Nokia is looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager to lead product development programs in a fast-paced complex multi-site, multi-product, multi-release environment. Tangible results would be measured through improved cross-functional synergy to deliver innovative products by working with Systems Engineering (ASIC, Hardware, Software, Test/QA), PLM, Architecture & Technical Support Teams.

Responsibilities
  • Program Management: Define, plan and execute NPI product development programs across Nokia sites to deliver Optical Transport solutions for ICPs & CSPs

  • Work with PLM, Hardware, Software, Test, Architecture, MFG & Technical Support to ensure up-stream (marketing/architecture requirements) and down-stream (customers & manufacturing) deliverables are driven, communicated and consensus built with cross functional teams

  • Manage and communicate plan of record to product teams and executives. Escalate & resolve issues effectively

  • Drive change control board (CCBs), Metrics & continuous improvements across R&D organization

  • Establish and assure adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans and performance requirements while meeting high quality standards with minimal surprises

  • When challenges arise, show leadership in pulling cross-functional teams together to address critical issues and propose trade offs

Qualifications

Must-Have- skills

  • Bachelor degree in engineering (EC/CS/EE)

  • 5-10 years of hands-on hardware/software development experience with demonstrable success in designing and shipping telecom products; especially with optical networking background

  • 4+ years of technical program management experience with solid understanding of building Systems HW/SW using agile development

  • Strong engineering background with a passion for delivering high-performance, scalable software

  • Passion for lightweight, effective processes and methodologies to improve productivity & efficiency of engineering teams; must be able to quickly learn and apply process/skills to make an immediate impact

  • An independent worker and self-starter who acts on issues with little guidance and understands implied tasks is a must

  • Excellent communication and cross-boundary collaboration skills. Must be articulate enough to convey technical ideas to non-technical people 

  • Has the ability to multi-task within a single or across multiple programs simultaneously 

  • Well versed in DevOps, JIRA, Confluence, Power BI, AI & Data Analysis Tools

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, electrical/computer engineering, or computer science
  • 5–10 years of hands-on hardware or software development experience
  • Demonstrated success designing and shipping telecommunications products
  • Optical networking experience
  • 4+ years of technical program management experience
  • Understanding of building hardware and software systems using agile development
  • Strong engineering background and ability to deliver high-performance, scalable software
  • Ability to learn and apply engineering processes and methodologies quickly
  • Independent, self-starting work style with limited guidance
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously
  • Knowledge of DevOps, JIRA, Confluence, Power BI, and AI and data analysis tools
