STV is seeking a Technical Project Manager - Education for the Construction Management team in Austin, TX.

The Technical Project Manager – Education is responsible for leading K‑12 and higher‑education facility projects from planning through closeout, with a focus on project management, construction delivery, stakeholder coordination, and technology/low-voltage integration. This role blends program management oversight (multiple projects, budgets, and schedules) with hands-on project management of individual assignments, ensuring quality, safety, and client satisfaction across all phases.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead multiple education facility projects from design through construction and closeout, serving as the owner’s representative to ensure scope, budget, and schedule objectives are achieved. (resume)

• Oversee the activities of assigned Assistant Project Managers and support staff, providing mentoring, task direction, and performance feedback.

• Exercise administrative authority over construction management, field engineering, and project controls activities on assigned projects, including documentation, RFIs, submittals, and change management.

• Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and hold contractors and technical teams accountable for quality, safety, and schedule performance.

• Serve as a mentor and technical resource to less‑experienced staff, fostering professional growth and accountability while driving consistent delivery excellence and positive client outcomes.

• Manage construction quality and evaluate progress through regular site visits, punch walks, and coordination with contractors, design teams, and campus stakeholders.

• Monitor project schedule, scope, and budget, including review of construction change requests, schedule impacts/delays, owner’s allowance usage, and contingency drawdowns.

• Collaborate with the Director of Design and consultants to review and ensure completeness and accuracy of design changes, responses to RFIs, cost estimates, and requests for design services.

• Provide field alteration oversight through non-conformance reporting, corrective action tracking, and documentation of as-built conditions.

• Maintain thorough project records and reporting through daily reports, jobsite photos, meeting minutes, and decision logs.

• Review schedules of values, progress payment applications, and change orders for monthly invoices and budget tracking.

• Prepare and present weekly and monthly status reports to clients, internal leadership, and other stakeholders, summarizing schedule, budget, risks, and key decisions.

• Coordinate low voltage, technology, security electronics, and information systems scope with design teams, integrators, and district/owner IT departments to ensure alignment with district/campus standards and project goals.

• Support procurement activities such as RFP/RFQ development, proposal evaluations, and contractor selection processes for construction and technology packages.

• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to contract requirements, building codes, and district standards on all projects.

Required Skills:

· Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, facilities management, licensed as a master electrician, or a related technical field; candidates with degrees in information technology or project management will also be considered. An additional 6 years of relevant experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

· Minimum of 5 years of project management experience. This requirement may be waived for Master Electrician’s that have led electrical/technology centric projects of a scope greater than $3 million.

· Exceptional technical and project management skills

· Proven ability to manage scope, schedule, and budget across multiple concurrent projects, including change management, forecasting, and risk mitigation

· Capability to manage competing demands on multiple client projects simultaneously

· Ability to prioritize and handle challenges on an independent basis

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports, meeting minutes, and client presentations

· Proficiency with standard project management and construction tools (e.g., MS Project or P6, Excel, Bluebeam, Procore or similar project management systems)
