Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

We are seeking a dynamic AUV Test and Evaluation Engineer to act as a vital link between our commercial survey engineering and field operations teams. This individual will be responsible for the comprehensive scoping, planning, execution, and reporting of tests to validate autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) systems in accordance with engineering requirements.

The role is critical to ensure the integrity and performance of our cutting-edge AUV systems. If you are passionate about marine technology and have a knack for meticulous testing and evaluation, we encourage you to apply!

  • Collaborate closely with the commercial survey engineers to understand and translate technical requirements into detailed test plans.
  • Design and execute comprehensive test campaigns for AUV development, integration, validation, and acceptance testing against specified requirements.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the systems engineering team and field operators, ensuring that testing objectives are clear and feasible.
  • Prepare and maintain test documentation, including test scopes, plans, procedures, and reports.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of test data, providing insightful feedback to both the engineering and operational teams to enable course correction where required.
  • Ensure that all testing activities are carried out in compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
  • Drive continuous improvement in testing methodologies to enhance system reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to field operations during the deployment and operation of AUVs in test scenarios.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, preferably in a field related to marine technology, robotics, or systems engineering, or related professional experience.
  • 5+ years hands on test and evaluation experience within the field of marine autonomous systems or similar ocean technology systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to create comprehensive test plans and detailed test reports.
  • Understanding of sonar systems, underwater acoustics, subsea navigation and their application in at-sea AUV operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (effective for broad audiences).
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills with a bias towards action – if you see a problem, you want to help solve/fix it.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and manage multiple tasks concurrently. You have the humility to continually listen and learn from others.
  • Ability to work at-sea for multi-day campaigns (up to 30-50% depending on testing location).
