The client is a leading company in digital transaction management and e-signature solutions, helping organizations streamline agreements and accelerate business processes through secure, scalable, and user-friendly platforms.

We are seeking a highly driven and technically strong Engineering Manager to drive technical strategy and execution for complex cloud infrastructure initiatives across our engineering organization. This role is pivotal in shaping cloud platform architecture and driving large-scale initiatives such as cloud migrations, control plane optimizations, and pipeline automations across cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate thrives in high-stakes environments, excels at aligning engineering teams on architecture and delivery, and possesses the technical depth and follow-through to deliver results on time and within scope. You will represent engineering strategy to executive leadership, translating technical complexities into actionable insights.
You won’t have direct reports, but you’ll have outsized technical influence across the organization — this role is for someone who wants to solve hard infrastructure problems at scale rather than manage a single team’s backlog.

The role requires working hours aligned with the Pacific Standard Time (PST) time zone.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end technical strategy and delivery for major cloud infrastructure projects, including enterprise-wide migrations to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), development of robust control planes, and implementation of scalable CI/CD pipelines.
• Align distributed engineering teams, architects, and stakeholders on architecture, technical deliverables, and delivery milestones.
• Drive technical planning, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies for high-impact initiatives, owning delivery outcomes and removing systemic blockers.
• Drive technical direction, resolve architectural tradeoffs, and foster collaboration to accelerate innovation in cloud-native architectures and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Represent engineering strategy to leadership, communicating project status, milestones, challenges, and outcomes to influence strategic decisions.
• Evolve engineering practices for scale, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence across teams.
• Mentor and grow engineers across the program, raising the technical bar and fostering a culture of engineering excellence.
• Ensure compliance with security, scalability, and reliability standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced certifications in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional) are highly desirable.
• 10+ years of experience in engineering leadership or technical program management, with at least 5 years focused on cloud infrastructure projects such as migrations, control planes, and automation pipelines.
• Proven track record of leading large-scale, technically complex initiatives spanning multiple engineering teams, with a demonstrated ability to deliver under tight deadlines.
• High drive and follow-through to push initiatives forward, even in ambiguous or technically challenging situations.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience briefing executives on technical and business impacts.
• Familiarity with engineering project tracking tools (e.g., Jira) and agile/scrum frameworks.
• Leadership in cross-organizational initiatives, including vendor management and stakeholder alignment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in hybrid or multi-cloud environments and large-scale data center migrations.
• Familiarity with control plane technologies (e.g., API gateways, service meshes) and pipeline orchestration (e.g., GitHub Actions, ArgoCD).
• Strong technical acumen in cloud computing, DevOps tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins), and infrastructure management.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment with a bias for action.
