You care about developer tools, clear technical storytelling, and helping software engineers do their best work. You know how to take complex product capabilities and turn them into clear narratives, launches, and campaigns that resonate with a highly technical audience. If you thrive on autonomy, take pride in your technical craft, and want to help shape how .NET developers worldwide view our tools, this role is for you.
About JetBrainsWe create intelligent software development tools for developers and teams. More than 15 million users, over 300,000 companies, and 88 of the Fortune Global Top 100 rely on our products to solve real, complex problems. Our mission is simple: make development teams more productive and AI adoptable at scale.
What you’ll doDeveloper tools are changing fast, and how we talk about .NET tools needs to stay grounded, credible, and clear. We need someone who can take ownership of technical product marketing across Rider, ReSharper, and dotUltimate, ensuring our messaging cuts through industry noise and focuses on genuine developer needs.
In this role, you’ll dig into products and developer workflows yourself, identify the stories worth telling, and help determine how we bring them to market. You will work closely with Product Managers, software engineers, Developer Advocates, Research, Growth, and other Marketing teams. Decisions here live close to the work – you’ll have the autonomy to generate ideas, test new campaign approaches, and shape product messaging without needing permission at every step.
Day to day, you will:- Develop clear positioning, messaging, and product stories around Rider, ReSharper, dotUltimate, and related .NET developer experiences.
- Turn complex technical capabilities and developer workflows into clear content, including launch stories, product pages, blog posts, case studies, video scripts, and campaign assets.
- Own product and feature marketing for key capabilities, working from product priorities and product manager input to shape developer-facing stories.
- Coordinate selected release marketing workflows, including planning and producing What’s New content and ensuring release stories are accurately represented.
- Build a deep understanding of .NET developers, their workflows, customer needs, market trends, and community conversations to shape priorities and campaigns.
- Develop and execute developer-focused campaigns around important product bets, defining the audience, message, channels, assets, and measures of success.
- Extend product stories beyond release day through follow-up content, campaigns, customer stories, and amplification.
- Measure the performance of launches, content, and campaigns, share what we learn, and adjust our approach when needed.
- Help tell the evolving story of professional developer tools as AI changes how software is built, including workflows involving agents and code intelligence.
- Contribute hands-on by writing articles, testing features, building briefs, editing landing pages, and capturing product visuals directly on demo projects.
- High technical curiosity and a deep respect for developer workflows and software craft.
- Comfort taking ownership, making decisions independently, and carrying ambiguous opportunities through execution.
- A habit of asking good questions and challenging assumptions constructively before building a campaign.
- Clear, direct communication style with an ability to explain complex technical ideas clearly and credibly.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple workstreams and collaborate smoothly across distributed teams.
- A pragmatic approach that balances strategic thinking, creative problem-solving, and hands-on execution.
- Practical experience in technical product marketing, developer marketing, or a comparable role for a technical software product.
- Ability to understand software development well enough to work directly with engineers and translate technical capabilities into developer benefits.
- Proven track record of bringing software products, features, or releases to market within frequent release cycles.
- Solid understanding of positioning, messaging, audience segmentation, channel selection, and campaign measurement.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to create compelling technical content and collaborate effectively with global teams.
- Have worked on developer tools, IDEs, APIs, SDKs, cloud or developer infrastructure, DevOps, or another product built for software developers.
- Have hands-on development experience or regularly work with code and developer tooling.
- Know C#, .NET, Rider, ReSharper, Visual Studio, VS Code, or related developer ecosystems.
- Have marketed AI-assisted development tools or are familiar with modern coding agents and AI developer workflows.
- Have created technical content such as case studies, tutorials, product videos, demos, technical articles, or developer-focused campaigns.
- Have experience working directly with developer communities or technical customers, including through webinars, interviews, or customer conversations.
Success means crafting clear, credible product narratives that help .NET developers understand the value of our tools, earning the trust of product and engineering teams, and continuously improving how we bring releases and campaigns to market.
