Overview: As a part of a flagship Litera product team, you will participate in the full SDLC from preliminary system analysis to testing and deployment. This role includes building high quality and fully performing software that meets quality and software development standards alongside a great team. You will mentor other team members, explore new technologies, and contribute to the wider discussion on technology and product.
Key Responsibilities:

Active contributor to the codebase

Refactor existing software
-
Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
-
Lead in designing, coding, testing, configuring, documenting, and debugging software, utilizing technologies, development tools and languages as required for the project assigned

Collaborate with Product Management, Software Quality Engineering, DevOps, Architecture, and other functional teams (e.g. Customer experience, Sales, Marketing), to ensure that solutions are efficient, consistent and fulfill business needs

Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability and general reliability

Ability to work independently without instructions

Strong team player who is open to give and receive feedback

A passion for technology and thrives in a dynamic environment with a focus on creative innovation over absolute completion

Work in an Agile software development environment (e.g. Scrum, Kanban), participating in commitment, retrospective and planning meetings

Attendance during regular work hours and overtime as required

Lead design and design reviews

Participate in requirements reviews

Apply generally accepted development and quality assurance standards and techniques to assure efficient program logic and data manipulation

Provide technical guidance and supervision to other team members, including the discovery of alternative system and software designs

Possesses advanced functional or technical knowledge to complex problem solving and process innovation
Role Progression:
Within 1 month, you will:

Complete the Litera onboarding process

Familiarize yourself with the team's processes and best practices to ensure streamlined ways of working

Become a working member of a product team

Begin establishing strategic relationships across teams and functions
Within 3 months, you will:

Become proficient with the existing product, codebase, and technologies
-
Understand strengths and weaknesses of the current product architecture and be able to lead a discussion on possible next steps
Within 6 months, you will:

Gain expert knowledge of the codebase and underlying technologies
-
Share your knowledge as needed and contribute to the overall development of the team and product
-
Lead implementation of new features, remediation of defects, and refactoring efforts

Mentor other team members as needed
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar discipline
-
6+ years of experience using a modern object-oriented language (C# strongly preferred)
-
3+ years experience with SQL, EF, LINQ

Experience with frontend web frameworks (e.g. React, Angular, Durandal, Knockout)

Extensive experience in crafting robust scalable APIs

Extensive experience in SaaS software development
-
Experience with Cloud technologies (Azure preferred)

Some experience with Lucene, OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, or similar search services
-
Stays current on new frameworks and technologies for desktop, mobile and cloud
-
Excellent communication and presentation skills

Proven ability to mentor others
