Technical Lead - Power BI

Job Overview
Designs, develops, implements and updates software systems in accordance with the needs of the organization.
Evaluates, schedules, and resources development projects; investigates user needs; and documents, tests and maintains computer programs.

Essential Functions

• In depth hands on technical expertise with Microsoft Analytics, Reporting, 
Database (Primary Azure SQL ; Secondary Azure Synapse) and ETL stack - 
Power BI, SSIS & Azure Data Factory, SSRS; In-depth Power BI & SQL database 
programming and advanced performance tuning experience – Stored 
Procedures, Views, Functions; skilled in analyzing and assessing query 
execution plans and DMVs; expertise in assessing and implementing indexes 
and partitioning; Tuning ETL Jobs - SSIS & Azure Data Factory
Advanced experience in Azure ML technologies using Python/R
• Experience in developing Azure Functions, Logic Apps and apps using 
C#/ASP.Net will be a big plus
• Demonstrated track record of keeping upto date with latest advancements 
with the above tech stack(s)
• Understand Business Requirements and Domain to own and do hands on 
development and delivery of end-to-end solution for assigned projects 
(covering architecture, data model, design and code). Duties include but not
limited to:
• Estimate projects
• Develop architecture, data model, design and approach; consider 
options and validate pros and cons
• Develop/Code using technologies mentioned in point 1, 2 & 3 above
• Thoroughly Test (From Functional and Performance perspective) the 
developed code and document test results
• Review code of other developers and identify areas needing remediation 
for functional and non-functional reasons such as query performance 
and track all these to closure
• Take proactive actions to address functional/technical issues and 
ensure delivery on time and budget with quality
• Own identification of problems and drive solutioning of those to closure 
as assigned
• Interact with various stakeholders – Business, BA’s, Production Support, 
Testing team and other development teams to assess and understand 
any impact to them and drive coordination between them as necessary 
to ensure successful delivery

• Defines and Carries out procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet minimum organization standards and end-user requirements.
• Thoroughly tests software to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects prior to implementation. Documents and works to resolve all problems. Devises improvements to current procedures and develops models of possible future configurations. Performs work flow analysis and recommends quality improvements.
• Works collaboratively with developers across regions.
• Models data for the purposes for analytics and reporting in order to facilitate clear and simple access to non-technical users across varying Business Units.
• Reviews business requirements with regards to reporting, advises on the pros and cons of the possible technical solutions.
• Translates those business needs into technical specifications and provides input to the requirements for the development of a solution.
• Develops a full understanding of all relevant medical data and the data processing platform in which it resides.
• Explores data to discover patterns, relationships, anomalies and trends.
• Creates reports, graphs and other visualizations to accurately and plainly represent stories within the data.
• Write relational and multi-dimensional database queries.
• Perform code reviews and optimization of existing queries.
• Comprehensively and coherently documents work in System of records.
• Tracks and defines work in Azure DevOps.

• Bachelor's Degree Computer Science Req
• Master's Degree Computer Science Pref
