Competent Groove is looking for a hands-on Technical Lead to lead the design and development of scalable enterprise applications. The ideal candidate should have strong backend expertise, experience with distributed systems, and the ability to mentor developers while actively contributing to architecture and coding.
Lead backend development using Node.js and Express.js.
Design scalable, secure, and high-performance REST APIs.
Build real-time applications using Socket.IO/WebSockets.
Design and optimize MySQL databases, queries, and indexing.
Implement caching and messaging using Redis and queue systems.
Review code, mentor developers, and enforce coding standards.
Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and Frontend teams.
Troubleshoot production issues and drive performance improvements.
Participate in architecture, sprint planning, and technical decision-making.
5+ years of experience in backend development.
Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and Express.js.
Excellent knowledge of MySQL, query optimization, indexing, and transactions.
Experience with Socket.IO/WebSockets for real-time applications.
Experience with Redis (Caching, Pub/Sub, Sessions).
Hands-on experience with BullMQ, Amazon SQS, Azure Queue/Service Bus, RabbitMQ, or similar queueing systems.
Working knowledge of Angular (integration and architecture).
Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with Git, REST APIs, JWT Authentication, and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong debugging, performance optimization, and production support skills.
Lead and mentor a team of developers.
Conduct code reviews and technical interviews.
Break down requirements into technical tasks.
Drive engineering best practices and coding standards.
Take ownership of technical decisions and project delivery.
