Technical Lead - Digital Tagging & Privacy Platforms

Tag Management & Server-Side Data Collection

• Serve as a hands-on technical lead for our Tealium-based tagging ecosystem.
• Design, configure, implement, and troubleshoot client-side and server-side tagging solutions.
• Develop scalable event collection and routing patterns across websites, commerce platforms, analytics and media destinations.
• Define data-layer standards, event schemas, naming conventions, and reusable tagging patterns.
• Lead implementation of integrations with platforms such as GA4, Google Ads, Meta and other analytics and media platforms.
• Determine appropriate client-side versus server-side implementation patterns based on performance, privacy, reliability and technical requirements.
• Implement monitoring and validation to identify missing, duplicated or incorrectly routed events.

Shopify Tagging

• Lead technical tagging implementations across Shopify / Shopify Plus.
• Implement digital behavioral and ecommerce event collection, including product views, cart activity, checkout and purchase events.
• Understand and work within Shopify's modern tagging architecture, including Customer Events, Web Pixels and checkout extensibility.
• Design solutions for custom events and integrations where standard Shopify events do not meet business requirements.
• Partner with commerce engineering teams to ensure Shopify events are reliably captured and routed through Tealium.

Consent & Cookie Privacy

• Support the technical implementation and ongoing management of OneTrust Cookie Consent / CMP.
• Integrate OneTrust consent signals with Tealium and downstream analytics, advertising and marketing technologies.
• Ensure tags and server-side integrations execute according to the appropriate consent state and privacy requirements.
• Support cookie classification, consent categories, preference management and consent-state propagation.
• Partner with Privacy and Legal teams to translate privacy requirements into technical controls.

Technical Leadership & Governance

• Establish engineering standards and implementation patterns for tagging, event collection and consent management.
• Review and provide technical direction for implementations delivered by internal teams and external partners.
• Lead troubleshooting of complex issues spanning the website, Shopify, Tealium, OneTrust and downstream platforms.
• Establish QA and validation practices for digital data collection.
• Maintain technical designs, implementation standards and documentation.
• Serve as the technical escalation point for tagging and consent-related issues

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in digital analytics implementation, tagging, web engineering or related technical disciplines.
• Deep hands-on experience with an enterprise Tag Management System (TMS) such as Google Tag Manager, Adobe Experience Platform Tags/Launch, Ensighten, mParticle or similar.
• Strong experience designing and implementing server-side tagging or server-side event collection.
• Strong understanding of JavaScript, APIs, JSON, HTTP/network requests, browser debugging and web technologies.
• Experience designing and implementing data layers and event-driven tracking architectures.
• Experience with Shopify / Shopify Plus tagging and ecommerce event collection.
• Experience implementing or integrating a Consent Management Platform (CMP) such as OneTrust.
• Strong understanding of cookies, consent signals and privacy-aware digital data collection.
• Experience implementing GA4 and digital analytics/event tracking.
• Ability to troubleshoot data flow across browser, server, tag management and downstream destination platforms.
