Job Summary:
The Technical Integration Specialist – API is responsible for providing advanced technical services and support for customer and 3rd party vendor API integrations for Nextech Software Products. This is an externally facing role, working directly with customers and 3rd party vendors to provide education on integration process as well as technical support, troubleshooting, and resolution of integration issues. This role works in partnership with the Tier 3 product team (Customer Excellence), and directly with Support, Implementation, and Product Development teams. The primary goal of this role is to resolve customer and 3rd party integration queries and issues within our SLA.

Essential Functions
- Perform technical research of customer issues, especially by analyzing data and understanding the associated functionality, and provide context and direction to development teams.
- Work with customers and integrated 3rd party vendors to resolve integration issues.
- Work with 3rd party vendors on integration inefficiencies and options for improvement.
- Contribute to, and maintain, a knowledgebase of integration FAQs.
- Support customers and 3rd party vendors on usage and best practices of our APIs.
- Resolve configuration-based defects and other defects not requiring development.
- Bridge technical communication between escalated customers and product development teams.
- Act as a technical liaison between Implementation, Development, and Product Management to help identify and resolve high impact issues.
- Develop and maintain an expert level of proficiency in all technical facets of our API solutions.
- Leverage API performance and usage metrics to ensure healthy integrations.
Minimum Requirements
- 4+ years of experience supporting/developing SaaS B2B APIs and interoperability technologies.
- Strong experience with interoperability standards, especially HL7 FHIR.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs (specifically Postman), JSON, XML, HTTPS, and API security best practices.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Self-motivated and a self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and personal accountability.
- Excellent critical thinking skills and demonstrated problem solving with the ability to think strategically and creatively.
- Strong application knowledge, understanding how solution functionality works within the context of a technical environment.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, success-driven team environment.
- Good project management skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Creativity, motivation, and a strong attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Jira and Agile software development.
- A customer-centric approach to problems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or certification in a technical field related to software engineering.
- Prior experience with healthcare operations or IT experience is a plus.
- Certification in API management or related technologies.
- Experience developing solutions for the 21st Century Cures Act.
