SMX is seeking a Graphic Designer with knowledge in conventional drafting and CAD techniques, as well as understanding of terms and procedures of the occupation. As a Graphic Designer you will support various contracts and work assignments under the SMX Global Defense Business Unit with a large variety of networking designs and implementation of communication systems programs. The ideal candidate will work with projects including legacy, current and next generation telecommunication, and related communications-electronics (C-E) systems and focus on drafting support including originating, designing, preparing and interpreting general designs and drawings for CE integration efforts for integration of both legacy and current state-of-the-art technology supporting various Department of Defense (DoD) entities. This position may require a non-standard work schedule and frequent travel.
This position requires a DoD secret security clearance, which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide drafting support and technical expertise support to include administration and documentation
- Candidate will be able to develop the originating drawings, implementation of designing, preparing and interpreting general designs and drawings
- Candidate will Track work by using good document control practices within our request system
- Candidate may assist with technical documentation, network diagrams, inventory control documentation, and redline drawing documentation
- Provide Sustainment Engineering (SE) support on various DoD IT systems and infrastructure components and must be knowledgeable of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Excel and Adobe Acrobat
Required Skills & Experience
- Clearance Required: Secret
- High School Diploma with 10 years of related experience Additional education may be used in lieu of years experience
- Drafting Certificate from Technical Center
- Basic understanding of C4I systems drawing packages
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience in designing and implementing SolidWorks and AutoCAD for CE systems
