Local Media Operations Department at TelevisaUnivision is looking for a detail oriented, multi-skilled full-time Technical Director within our production department.

ABOUT YOU:
This candidate should be detail oriented with a can-do attitude. Suppose you are excited about creating content for a large audience and are passionate about your community and its challenges. In that case, being a member in the Univision Houston Production team is your job.
YOUR DAY-DAY:

•    Code and execute live newscasts and special programs utilizing the Ross Overdrive Automated Production Control Room System to ensure seamless on-air delivery
•    Studio Control Operation - Knowledge of Vizrt Graphics & the Avid production ecosystem.
•    Operate robotic cameras and manage studio lighting during live and recorded broadcasts
•    Collaborate effectively with producers, on-air talent and other crew members offering clear direction during live and recorded broadcasts
•    Possess a solid understanding of a 24/7 operational news control room.

YOU HAVE:

•    College/bachelor’s degree or equivalent broadcast experience is preferred. Technical school acceptable.
•    Minimum three years of industry experience and understanding of television production.
•    Knowledge of the Ross Acuity switcher & Ross Overdrive with Caprica
•    Experience as a Director / Technical Director or both.
•    Knowledge of Avid Capture Recording Equipment is a Plus.
•    Required to have the ability to work well both independently and in a team environment. 
•    Able to remain calm and think clearly under pressure
•    Applicant must be able to work with and have a solid understanding of newsroom computer systems and applications used: iNews & Microsoft Word.
•    Strong communication skills to work effectively with Colleagues, Producers, Talent and Managers.
•    Exceptional Team player who displays a positive/proactive work ethic and can work under tight deadlines.
•    Must have a valid Driver’s License and good driving record.
•    Must be Bilingual (English/Spanish)
