KFTV Noticias 21 is currently seeking a part-time Photographer/Editor for our live newscasts.
This individual will be responsible for performing technical functions with production video switchers and/or manual “punch and call.” The role will coordinate all aspects of the live daily newscasts alongside the News editorial staff and will develop and implement the best tools and practices to showcase the product. As editor, the individual will be responsible for editing for the station’s newscasts.
ABOUT YOU:
The ideal candidate possesses self-initiative to stay up to date with new and emerging technologies and methods. You have knowledge of video editing concepts, file transfer protocols, and you can work well in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
YOUR DAY-DAY:
• Direct and Technical Direct fast-paced newscasts and other station productions using a Sony
MVS-6500 switcher ton “punch and call.”
• Record and film segments for shows, and edit, as needed using professional cameras and editing
software.
• Set up the studio and control room environments for various productions, including audio and lighting.
• Actively participate in the News “look” creation and new ideas for Newscast and show enhancements.
• Individual will shoot, assemble, and edit material for daily newscasts, web, and other platforms.
• Create graphics for monitor, video walls and or edit stories
• Work with reporters, producers and on solo projects
• Other duties as deemed necessary
YOU HAVE:
• Must have working knowledge of the following: Production Video Switchers (Sony MVS-6530 or
equivalent), Non-linear Editing (Avid Newscutter, Premier Pro or equivalent), and Newsroom
Computer Systems (iNEWS or equivalent). Production cameras such as Sony Z280, Panasonic P2
camera and DSLR knowledge preferred.
• Proficient in Photoshop, Adobe, and Canva
• Applicants considered for this position must have the ability to work well in a deadline driven Live TV
environment. Must also have the ability to remain flexible and adjust to changing and demanding work
conditions.
• The Director must be detail oriented and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Fluency in Spanish is highly desired but not required.
• Must have the ability and flexibility to work a varied work schedule including nights, weekends, and
holidays
• Minimum two years, small to medium market television operations and production experience. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
• AA/BA/BS in Television Arts/Sciences desired, will consider work experience in lieu of degree.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, type, edit, reach, and sit for up to (8) hours.
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Employment/education will be verified
• Must be willing to work from the offices in Fresno, CA
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
• Valid California Driver’s license with clean driving record, as driving a news vehicle daily to and from
Stories is an essential part of the daily routine.

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Please note the national salary range listed in the job posting reflects the new hire salary range across levels and U.S. locations that would be applicable to the position.
Hourly $19.00 - $26.00
