Overview of the Role
PagerDuty is seeking a Technical Content Writer to join our diverse, customer-focused team! As a Technical Content Writer, you will collaborate with team members and subject matter experts to develop a solid understanding of the PagerDuty platform, translate complex technical concepts into plain language for new users, and storyboard engaging training content for online course development. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the creation of eLearning courses that train users on PagerDuty products and best practices. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional writing skills, a tech-savvy mindset, and strong organizational abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team members and subject matter experts to develop a thorough understanding of the entire PagerDuty product portfolio
- Translate complex technical concepts and features using plain language to make it accessible for new users of the product
- Storyboard the training content in an engaging manner for online course development (e.g., infographics, scripts for animations and video demos, interactive exercises, etc).
- Create screen captures of the PagerDuty platform for video demos and product tours
- Validate the accuracy of the content by testing it out on the PagerDuty platform
- Manage the end-to-end course design and development cycle, ensuring that project milestones are met
- Regularly review and revise existing courses to reflect product updates and changes
- Perform thorough QA checks of all online courses before release
- Write marketing materials to promote the release of new courses, including one-pagers, newsletters, social media, etc
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years experience as a technical writer for a SaaS product, preferably for eLearning
- Exceptional writing skills and attention to detail, with a solid command of grammar, spelling and punctuation. Having high quality standards is a must.
- Tech savvy — ability to pick up technical concepts quickly and a willingness to get your hands dirty using and testing out the product
- Ability to write effectively for different mediums (e.g., reading, scripting for instructional videos & commercials, marketing materials, product tours)
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize projects with competing deadlines
The base salary range for this position is 84,000 - 130,000 USD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, commission, equity, and/or benefits.
Our base salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range, which is subject to change based on primary work location, reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we expect to pay newly hired employees for the position. Within the range, we determine pay for an individual based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills/competencies and experience.
