Technical Content Developer

Sonrai Security is looking for a motivated, passionate team member who enjoys the dynamic and fast-paced culture of a growing startup. We are looking for a self-starter who wants to drive results in a product led growth organization. 

As a Technical Content Developer, you will partner with engineering, subject matter experts, product management, and field teams to produce a variety of high quality content (i.e. training videos, accurate technical documentation, in-product user experiences, etc.).

Our ideal candidate has a varied technical skillset, strong communication and writing skills and is also willing to be hands-on with the product to effectively address the needs of our customers while building compelling content to demonstrate capabilities in clear and easy-to-understand formats.

Responsibilities

• Review  the product and documentation for instructional accuracy and consistency
• ○Update, edit, and proofread written materials (i.e. product information sheets, knowledge base articles, how-to guides, FAQs, in-product tooltips, etc.) 
• ○ Publish visual and written content leveraging source control systems and workflow tools such as Git, JIRA/Confluence for a broad group of internal and external stakeholders 
• Build and maintain customer assets that go beyond traditional documentation, such as online videos, demos, guided tours, and other educational mediums
• ○ Create and analyze customer experiences within the product using technologies like Gainsight PX, Navattic, etc.
• ○ Provide regularly scheduled product update emails to customers through technologies like Marketo
• Define documentation standards, including the publication process and tooling
• Gather customer feedback about the documentation and in-product experiences to improve usability and contribute to product-led growth efforts

Technical Writer Qualifications/Skills

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years professional work experience in technical documentation
• ○  Experience effectively communicating complex ideas in a simplistic way 
• ○ We are open to candidates with a background in software engineering, technical writing, or scientific publication
• Strong written and verbal communications plus experience working with technical content in multiple mediums
• ○ *Please provide a portfolio of technical writing samples for review
• Ability to manage multiple writing assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines - be ready and willing to jump in and tackle new challenges as they arise!
• Ability to thrive and positively adapt in a constantly changing SaaS software development environment 
• ○  Experience working with Agile/Scrum development teams both in-person and remote
• Strong experience owning end-to-end documentation-as-code workflows from the creation to publishing stages
• ○  Experience with publishing software and languages like Markdown, HTML/CSS, React, JS, etc.

Bonus

• Experience working in a technical SaaS startup with experience in security and cloud is an asset
• Experience in presenting technical information in a live setting, such as classroom training, presentations, or video conference
