Job Description

We are looking for an innovative Technical Business Analyst who is a subject matter expert to support the development and implementation of process and solution improvements, along with the planning and implementation of new / future technology. You will be the bridge between our business and/or customers and the Technology organization. The Technical Business Analyst’s responsibilities include gathering business requirements and functional specifications, assessing the current systems in place in order to identify areas in need of improvement, and providing inputs and specifications to the development teams.

You should also be able to regularly update the Leadership team and communicate to executive stakeholders. An outstanding Technical Business Analyst should be able to explain complex problems to management in layman’s terms. You will work with the business to deliver compelling, commercially viable solutions across multiple platforms and channels and build roadmaps, epics, and user stories. Our BA will work closely with the Developers to facilitate the implementation of solutions using Agile methodologies. You’ll analyze existing and strategic information systems to meet the business needs and support strategic goals while assessing the solutions currently in place and working with staff to recommend improvement solutions. This position will work with development teams as problems arise and get to test new functionalities. You’ll assess the business impact of technical decisions, provide updates to stakeholders, and genera insights based on data and data analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Proven experience in the assessment and implementation of new requirements using knowledge of existing solutions and working with developers to enhance user experience.
  • Sound knowledge of ecommerce and software development life cycle. Including a strong understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system setup and maintenance
  • Efficient communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Working with technology and QA teams to deploy and troubleshoot the system applications.
  • Fine tuning processes and improvements to ensure system reliability and scalability.
  • Prepare documentation and provide guidance and consultancy. Documentation includes process mapping and data flow diagrams.
  • Understand the environment specifics in context with business requirements.
  • Manage business priorities with the development team, work with the development manager to ensure features/user stories are in place for upcoming sprints.
  • QA and demo new features to the wider business.
  • Previous project development experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience including increasing technical and analytical experience
  • Experience with eCommerce, supply chain, retail operations, accounting/finance (including a basic understanding of accounting and financial processes), and marketing
  • Experience with Zendesk, Shopify, Netsuite, and Domo preferred
  • Basic experience with SQL /MySQL for reporting purposes
  • Experience and knowledge of collaboration tools (MS Teams, Zoom, MS Dev Ops, Workfront)
  • Decision making skills / bias for action
  • Ability to work using Agile methodologies as well as independently
  • Ability to translate technical requirements and solutions into business language (and vice versa)
  • Skills to work with business stakeholders to understand application issues and/or future functionality. Put together plans and document objectives and requirements.
  • Demonstrate competency anticipating problems and complications and formulating solutions so as not to impede the progress of a project
  • Good understanding of QA processes and how to ensure data integrity
  • Knowledge of customer journey mapping
  • Soft Skills – communication, negotiation, collaboration, focus on detail, stress resilience
  • Be comfortable managing a diverse and fast-paced workload, with the ability to manage daily issues while concurrently developing future improvements
  • Undergraduate degree
