Job Description Summary:Vector Renewables is looking for a highly motivated and expert in the renewable energy industry, to be appointed as Project Engineer joining the Technical Advisory team in Italy.
As part of the Italy Technical Advisory team, the candidate will give technical support for Technical Due Diligence processes (M&A transactions, Project Finance and others) of renewable energy projects with a particular focus on wind, as well as perform activities such as general technical advisory services, construction monitoring, engineering design review, project management and site management among others.
The Project Engineer will be based in Milan office and will spend the majority of the time conducting desktop analysis for customers and liaising with colleagues from other disciplines, however site inspection and travel to customer premises are also foreseen.

Job Description:

Key responsibilities

  • Technical Due Diligence process for wind energy projects under development, in construction and in operation.

  • Perform site visits to terrains where projects are being developed to detect the risks associated with the terrain, restrictions (rivers, electric lines, protected trees), the surroundings and other possible constraints that could affect the project both during the construction or the operational phase.

  • Monitoring of the projects under construction, to detect any deviation and issues that may affect the project during the operational phase.

  • Perform site visit to projects already in operation to identify any issues that could affect the long-term operation of the plants.

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering. MSc Degree will be a plus.

  • 5+ years of professional experience in the wind energy sector, in engineering or consultancy companies.

  • Experience in project development and project management

  • Experience in technical due diligence processes, with a special focus on electrical and civil project design review, site assessment and contract review.

  • Experience in operational and performance analysis, as well in wind turbine inspections and site inspections.

  • Experience in grid connection procedures.

  • Italian and English language, additional languages spoken are considered as a plus.

  • Attitude for commercial and bidding processes.

  • Availability in travelling and spend short period on site.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Valid driving license

Additional requirements

  • Charter Engineer qualifications will be considered a plus.

  • Technical knowledge of PV energy and BESS projects will be considered a plus.

  • Knowledge of specialized software, especially WindPro, WindSim, WAsP and PVsyst.

  • Perform energy yield assessments of wind and PV projects will be considered a plus.
