## Role: Technical Roles (Researchers, Software Engineers, Mobile & Frontend Engineers)
We’re hiring across our technical teams in Kigali, Rwanda—ranging from research and machine learning to backend/infrastructure, cloud, frontend, and mobile development. This is a great fit for early-career to mid-level engineers (0–5 years) who enjoy solving hard problems, shipping quickly, and improving systems continuously.
## What You’ll Work On
* Design, build, and maintain software systems that are reliable, scalable, and secure
* Develop and ship product features across backend, web, and mobile surfaces (depending on your track)
* Build and operate cloud services and internal infrastructure with a focus on performance and observability
* Collaborate with research and product teams to prototype, validate, and productionize ML-driven capabilities
* Debug production issues, improve system resilience, and reduce operational toil in high-pace environments
* Write clear documentation, tests, and tooling that help teams move faster
## Core Technologies & Languages We Use
* Golang (high usage across most of our infrastructure)
* Python (services, tooling, data/ML workflows)
* Rust (commonly used by research teams and performance-critical components)
* TypeScript (frontend and full-stack development)
* Swift and Kotlin (mobile development)
## What We’re Looking For
* 0–5 years of experience in software engineering, research engineering, or related technical roles
* Strong programming fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, debugging, and code quality
* Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and prioritizing effectively
* Ability to learn quickly, communicate clearly, and collaborate across disciplines
* A strong sense of engineering/science fundamentals—your day-to-day will involve diagnosing issues and fixing things under time pressure
* Experience (or strong interest) in one or more of: machine learning, software development, research, cloud computing
## Nice to Have
* Experience deploying and operating services in cloud environments (e.g., AWS/GCP/Azure or similar)
* Experience with CI/CD, monitoring/observability, and incident response practices
* Experience building ML models, data pipelines, or production ML systems
* Mobile app development experience (Swift/Kotlin) or modern web development experience (TypeScript)
* Open-source contributions, research projects, or demonstrable side projects
