Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing a variety of technical documentation, including user manuals, operating instructions, online help, release notes, product data sheets, and installation instructions. 

This role provides opportunities to work with global cross-functional product teams and gain deep knowledge of enterprise software products and technologies. You will strengthen your expertise in technical communication, content strategy, and modern documentation tools while contributing to large-scale product releases. 

The position offers exposure to global stakeholders, enabling you to enhance your collaboration, leadership, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

• Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including product data sheet, user guides, installation manuals, release notes for software and hardware products based on the Client’s Framework.
• Learn and work with Client’s software and hardware products.
• Understand client’s customer personas and their specific needs. 
• Refer demos, videos and anything else that helps to collect pieces of information to develop technical documents. 
• Write task-based topics with related concepts and reference topics as needed. 
• Define content strategy and architecture at the product level based on collected technical publication plan.
• Develop technical documents from scratch by gathering requirements, structuring content, and ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with engineers, developers, product managers, offering managers, and subject matter experts to collect, validate, and update technical information.
• Collaborate with other Technical Writers (client team) in a team environment. 
• Follow client Style Guide and workflow standards for authoring, review, and publishing.
• Review and check documents as per approved templates, checklist, and set standards.
• Communicate and arrange reviews/approvals from global stakeholders.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Mechanical, Instrumentation, or E&TC engineering streams - Preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in related engineering discipline or science-related field
• Bachelor’s Degree in technical writing, communications, engineering, journalism, English, technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

Background

You must have:

• 3+ years of experience in the technical writing domain.
• Proven experience in creating technical documents from scratch, including planning, structuring, writing, and publishing content.
• Proficiency in Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) - mandatory.
• Must have hands-on experience using documentation tools - Adobe FrameMaker, Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign, and/or AEM Guides.
• Must have hands-on experience using collaboration tools - Jira, and Confluence.
• Sophisticated knowledge of structured authoring and single sourcing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including native-level competency in English.
• Capability to quickly learn complex technical concepts & product technicalities.
• Requires occasional flexibility in working hours to effectively collaborate with global stakeholders in meetings aligned with the Eastern Standard Time (EST) time zone.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly
• Good time management & prioritization of assigned tasks & projects.
• Demonstrated attention to detail.
• Reliably self-motivated and comfortable working independently.

Nice to have:

• Experience in technical documentation of Building Management Systems, Network controllers, building controls, security systems, industrial controls, data centers, or energy management tools and controls. 
• Experience with AI tools and their use for content generation, review, and migration.
• Leverage generative AI and content intelligence tools to improve documentation development, review, migration, and maintenance processes.
• Use AI-assisted technologies responsibly to accelerate content creation while ensuring technical accuracy, consistency, and compliance with documentation standards.
• Evaluate opportunities to improve content discoverability, customer self-service experiences, and knowledge management through AI-powered solutions.
• Contribute to the adoption of modern documentation practices such as AI-assisted authoring, content reuse, metadata optimization, and intelligent search
• Demonstrate an understanding of the responsible use of generative AI for documentation, including content generation, editing, summarization, migration, quality review, metadata enrichment, and knowledge management.
• Familiarity with writing for localization material.
