Who you’ll be working with

We build the solutions dreamed up by the product and design teams. Our goal is to deliver working software every two weeks. We are a large team that spans across three global offices, but we collaborate and integrate front- and back-end components and interfaces to provide a user-centered experience through web and mobile platforms.

What you’ll be doing

  • This is a hands-on role that will require coding and regular code reviews
  • Own frontend engineering quality, standards, and delivery outcomes across projects.
  • Act as the final decision-maker for frontend architecture, tooling, and implementation approaches.
  • Establish and enforce standardized frontend patterns for Shopify, BigCommerce, and CMS implementations.
  • Drive simplicity-first solutions, eliminating over-engineering and reducing long-term technical debt.
  • Create and maintain reusable components, templates, and reference architectures to enable repeatable delivery.
  • Provide hands-on leadership on active projects to unblock teams, correct direction, and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Improve speed, predictability, and quality of incremental software releases.
  • Partner with PMs and Client Principals to support engineering-led discovery and right-sized solutions.
  • Reinforce a top-down engineering ownership model, supporting managers with clear guardrails and standards.
  • Raise the engineering culture bar around accountability, urgency, and craftsmanship.
  • Own frontend observability and performance visibility, ensuring teams proactively monitor and improve Core Web Vitals, runtime errors, and user experience metrics.
  • Ensure frontend builds are analytics-ready, with consistent event tracking, performance instrumentation, and data quality standards.
  • Drive frontend decisions that positively impact SEO, CRO, and overall funnel performance in collaboration with Product, Marketing, and Clients.

What you’ll need to be successful (Requirements)

Must have skills:

  • 8+ years of hands-on frontend engineering experience
  • Client-facing experience, preferably in a consulting setting
  • Deep expertise in React and Next.js in production environments
  • Demonstrated ownership of frontend engineering standards and quality across multiple projects or teams
  • Ability to make and enforce clear architectural and implementation decisions
  • Hands-on mindset with willingness to step into active builds when standards or delivery are at risk
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including client- and leadership-facing discussions.
  • Strong understanding of frontend performance optimization, including Core Web Vitals, Lighthouse metrics, and real-user monitoring (RUM).
  • Experience implementing and governing Google Analytics (GA4) or similar analytics platforms, including event taxonomy and data consistency.
  • Solid understanding of technical SEO fundamentals (rendering strategies, metadata, structured data, page speed, crawlability).

Should have skills:

  • Experience delivering CMS-driven builds (headless or traditional)
  • Strong understanding of API-driven frontend architectures (REST and/or GraphQL)
  • Proven track record in improving speed, predictability, and quality of frontend software deliverables. 
  • Experience partnering with Product or Design during discovery and solutioning
  • Familiarity with frontend testing strategies, code review practices, and CI/CD workflows
  • Experience mentoring senior engineers and raising engineering culture and accountability.
  • Experience collaborating on CRO initiatives, including A/B testing, experimentation frameworks, and data-driven UI improvements.
  • Hands-on experience with frontend observability tools such as Sentry, Datadog, New Relic, or similar error and performance monitoring platforms.

Nice to have skills:

  • Experience with ERP-integrated frontend solutions
  • Prior ownership of frontend accelerators or internal frameworks
  • Experience in a consulting or agency environment with multiple concurrent client engagements
  • Familiarity with modern eCommerce headless architectures (Hydrogen, composable commerce, etc.)
