PLOC is part of GAIA, Global Assay Innovation & Automation with more than 100 amazing colleagues worldwide working to develop, optimize, align and automate QC methods to bring new products into production and advance our product quality control with higher throughput.
You will become a part of the PLOC department, which focuses on developing analytical methods for Enzyme contaminants and Chemical/Physical methods, and optimizing microbiological tests for live active bacteria.
The department consists of 19 dedicated colleagues, including scientists, lab technicians, and student workers, who values collaboration and a great deal of fun in the daily work. Your team consists of 7 lab technicians and 2 student workers. Besides your team there are 3 specialized teams working on Live Active Bacteria, Enzyme Contaminants and Chemistry.
Your workplace is based in Bagsværd, and you will report directly to the Senior Department Manager.
In this role you’ll make an impact by:
Leading a dedicated team and driving innovation. Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will manage and coordinate projects — both within the team and towards QC in close collaboration with the Scientists. You will ensure that deliverables meet deadlines and standards. By combining clear priorities your leadership will play a key role in achieving our goals while fostering a collaborative and dynamic work environment.
As a Team Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Daily team management including planning, prioritizing, and allocating resources for ongoing tasks and projects
- Motivating your team by fostering a positive and engaging work environment that supports growth and innovation
- Ensuring the onboarding and long-term professional development of laboratory technicians
- Process improvement by optimizing laboratory workflows and ensuring efficient operations
- Driving projects by close collaboration with scientists and cross-departmental teams to deliver PLOC projects on time
- Strategic contributions by playing an active role in the departments strategy and leadership initiatives
- Foster a positive and engaging work environment that supports collaboration and continuous improvement
To succeed you must hold:
- A Master’s degree or higher in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Food Science, or a related field
- 5 years of relevant industry experience
- A strong technical background and an understanding of QC laboratory workflows
- Experience in people management, including resource planning and employee motivation
- Project Management qualifications or hands-on experience leading projects
