Team Lead – Quality Engineering (m/f/d)

Position Summary

For the Innovation Unit - Quality Engineering in Munich, Germany, LivaNova is looking for a new innovative, ambitious talent. We are currently hiring for a Team Lead – Quality Engineering to expand and support the advancement of our product portfolio & Value generation.

You will be a key contributor to the quality engineering strategy for our Cardiopulmonary equipment (Software based Electro-Mechanical systems) development and manufacturing processes, being key role for the quality and effectiveness on the device when used to treat our patients.

In this role, you will ensure that we meet our superior mission to ensure “patients first” with “Innovative approaches” and showing “commitment to Quality”. You will support Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Design controls, and other Quality System activities - locally and globally.

General Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage & develop a team of quality engineers and technicians to implement business imperatives and to run the daily operations, in alignment with medical device regulations. This scope includes operations quality, design assurance, manufacturing assurance & associated sustaining operations to improve product & operations quality, by engaging as the quality engineering business partner
  • Lead, perform & execute problem solving to remediate issues in above scope including such as internal and external processes
  • Lead non-conforming material management processes example – disposition, risk evaluation, root-cause-failure investigation as well as leading & executing corrective/preventive actions
  • Partner as appropriate with cross-functional teams & suppliers to improve product performance
  • Partner & lead as appropriate in ensuring CAPA process implementation
  • Independently & in cooperation with cross-functional members, ensure to conceptualize, develop testing for purpose of qualifications, material inspections and risk evaluation etc.
  • Be the resource partner for projects of new generation products, value engineering, manufacturing optimization
  • Perform data analysis and lead associated improvements. Conceptualize and develop data driven process improvements
  • Ensure maintenance of risk management process
  • Establishing & improving processes surrounding the job role

Skills and Experience

  • Engineering degree preferable in electronics, electrical, mechatronics engineering. Consolidated experience in medical device quality function for design/RD & incl. manufacturing operations
  • Strong working knowledge of quality engineering fundamentals & concepts, methods, tools
  • Strong knowledge of quality system & quality engineering principles in medical device industry is a must
  • Sound fundamentals & knowledge in engineering & physics principles
  • Sound experiential knowledge in problem solving & root cause analysis processes, methods, tools
  • Sound knowledge in quality engineering statistics preferable experience Minitab, Power BI etc
  • Fundamental skills in Lean & six sigma are strongly preferred
  • Good verbal & written communication skills in English & German
  • Strong leadership skills showing ability to influence team members as well as cross-functional peers/team
  • Able to communicate effectively – clear, fact based, detail attention, open, honest & ability to work over feedback
  • Good team player. Adept & Able to establish contacts and develop network/relationships & resolve conflicts
  • Pragmatic and result-oriented: capable to prioritize independently, plan and drive activities with specific attention to understand expectations of internal and external stakeholder
  • With an independent & proactive mindset in to find opportunities & drive improvements/topics
  • Ability to assert oneself
  • Being curious with an innovative mindset
  • 25% travel may be needed
