Job Title: Team Agilist

Overview
The Team Agilist ensures that a single Agile Team operates effectively and continuously improves. Serving as a servant leader and coach, the Team Agilist leads the team transformation, facilitates team cadences, promotes proactive risk management, and removes impediments that block progress. This role fosters a culture of transparency, accountability, and learning while helping the team continuously increase their proficiency and maturity, and deliver high-quality outcomes aligned with product objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate team sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
Coach the team in Lean and Agile product managerial and Agile technical practices to maintain sustainable, predictable, fast and adaptable delivery.
Ensure all work items meet the Definition of Ready (DoR) and Definition of Done (DoD).
Partner with the Product Owner to strengthen backlog management and grooming practices.
Partner with the staff engineer and engineering manager in improving the Agile technical practices of teams.
Collaborate with the Product Agilist to ensure practices and processes are consistent with organizational standards and framework.
Help the team identify and resolve impediments within its control, escalating systemic issues to the appropriate parties.
Guide the team in risk management, including mitigation and contingency planning.
Drive continuous improvement, advancing team maturity and agility.
Maintain transparency of progress, impediments, and risks through effective reporting and metrics.
Foster a collaborative environment that values feedback, innovation, and continuous learning.
Engage actively in communities of practice leading improvements, contributing, mentoring and being mentored.
Required Qualifications
2+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Team Coach, Service Delivery Manager, or equivalent role.
Delivered the transformation of several Agile Teams, including examples of all stages from team formation to high levels of agility and performance (team is reliable – able to make promises and keep them, fast – able to deliver stories within days and features within a few weeks, and adaptable – able to change direction swiftly and with minimal waste).
Strong knowledge of Agile methods (Scrum, Kanban, XP) and associated product, process and technical practices.
Experience working within a team-of-teams (e.g. Product delivered by 5 Agile Teams collaborating).
Proven facilitation and servant leadership skills.
Ability to coach stakeholders, leaders, and team members on Agile principles and practices.
Familiarity with Agile metrics and Inspect & Adapt techniques.
Experience in product development (both new product introduction and sustaining), distinct from IT services or bespoke software development.
Proven experience mentoring and being mentored
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in fintech, SaaS, or other fast-paced technology industries.
Exposure to DevOps practices and modern engineering approaches.
Relevant certifications such as CSM, PSM, SAFe Scrum Master, or PMI-ACP.
