The Tax Technology Lead will support initiatives across income tax, indirect tax, provision, compliance, transfer pricing, information reporting, and other tax processes. This individual will design and build automation, reporting, reconciliation, and workflow solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and transparency across the Tax department.
Responsibilities
Lead hands-on tax technology initiatives across income tax, indirect tax, provision, compliance, transfer pricing, and related tax processes.
Design, build, and maintain automation, reporting, reconciliation, and workflow solutions for the Tax department.
Partner with Tax, Finance, Accounting, IT, Data, and business stakeholders to improve tax data quality, process efficiency, and controls.
Develop dashboards, reports, and analytics using Omni, Power BI, Excel, SQL, and other reporting or automation tools.
Support tax-related processes connected to SAP and other enterprise systems.
Translate tax business requirements into functional and technical specifications for reports, dashboards, workflows, integrations, and system enhancements.
Build repeatable and well-controlled data processes for tax reporting, compliance, provision, planning, and audit support.
Support tax technology platform enhancements, implementations, testing, documentation, and user training.
Improve documentation, process controls, data governance, and standard operating procedures across tax processes.
Identify opportunities to apply automation, analytics, and emerging technologies to improve tax operations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
5–7 years of relevant experience in tax technology, tax operations, finance transformation, data analytics, or accounting technology.
Hands-on experience building reports, dashboards, automations, reconciliations, or data workflows.
Experience working with SAP or other ERP-sourced financial data.
Experience with Omni, Power BI or similar reporting and analytics tools.
Strong Excel skills and experience working with large data sets.
Experience with SQL, Alteryx, Python, VBA, Power Query, Power Automate, or similar tools preferred.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to operate as a hands-on individual contributor while influencing cross-functional teams.
Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and high-intensity environment with timely responsiveness and flexibility to work beyond normal business hours when required.
Preferred Qualifications
CPA or relevant technology, analytics, or project management certification a plus, but not required.
Experience in energy, commodities, trading, financial services, or another complex multinational environment a plus.
Experience with data warehouses, Snowflake, APIs, enterprise data models, or cloud-based reporting environments.
Familiarity with SOX controls, audit requirements, and financial reporting control environments.
