Based in New York City, this client-facing position will work closely with TPG Angelo Gordon, a major global alternative asset manager focused on credit and real estate investments.
This is a role that will work closely within the tax team and with the fund accountants on asset-based, mortgage-backed, and loan origination investment funds. We are looking for a candidate with 2+ years’ public accounting/private financial services industry experience. The responsibilities would be varied and applied across our credit fund platform. Working closely with our Tax Managers, this professional will execute key functions including fund tax compliance, workpaper preparation, and tax return review. You will serve as a vital liaison to our fund administrator, manage communications with outside tax advisors, and assist with global information reporting, investment tax research, and state tax reviews.
While HCVT offers a hybrid model, this specific role requires a minimum of four days per week in our Manhattan office to facilitate close collaboration with the TPG Angelo Gordon team.
As a Tax Senior, you will be responsible for the following:
- Reviewing investor tax deliverables including K-1s and K-3s.
- Managing the preparation of 1042-S and 8805 forms for foreign investors.
- Drafting quarterly LP tax estimate letters to provide transparency on projected tax liabilities.
- Reviewing quarterly and year-end calculations for Original Issue Discount (OID), Market Discount, and Premium Amortization across large portfolios of bonds and mortgage pools to ensure accurate income reporting.
- Reviewing federal and state partnership and corporate tax returns.
- Managing the extension process across all partnerships, states, and withholding regimes.
- Ensuring the accuracy of investor demographics and tax allocations.
- Performing quarterly REIT compliance testing and income projections.
- Overseeing the quarterly and year end tax provision process.
- Ensuring all year-end REIT compliance procedures are executed.
- Managing internal teams to obtain and analyze books and records across Funds and SPVs.
- Calculating quarterly tax income estimates in-house.
- Preparing and submitting federal and state tax payments for both corporate and partnership liabilities.
- Coordinating with Big Four tax preparers (PwC, EY, Deloitte).
- Managing the flow of data to these firms; reviewing their work product for accuracy.
- Leading year-end tax planning meetings to align on strategy and deadlines.

To be successful, these are the skills and experience you will need:
- Minimum of 2 years of public / private tax accounting experience.
- Undergraduate/Master’s degree in Accounting or Tax.
- Strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Financial services or Hedge Fund experience preferred.
- Team player and collaborator; excellent communications skills.
- Must be motivated, organized, flexible, and proactive.
- Must have CPA license or CPA exam parts passed.
