Job Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing tax team! The US Tax Group is responsible for managing its US entities in compliance with the Internal Revenue Code (IRC), while maintaining a strategic focus on the Firm's domestic and global tax implications. The US Tax group oversees a wide array of activities, including compliance, inquiries, tax audits, tax projects, and tax strategies. Additionally, the US Tax group collaborates closely with cross-functional teams and with its US and Global colleagues. This role is reported directly into the Director, Head of US Tax.
This position is based in our Chicago office and requires a min of 3 days per week onsite in office.
Job Responsibilities:
- Own and execute end-to-end tax compliance and provision processes in accordance with ASC 740, IFRS (head office), US GAAP (local office), and IRC (Internal Revenue Code)
- Address complex provision issues including group state return allocations, net operating loss utilization, and deferred tax asset recognition and valuation
- Prepare and review corporate, partnership and state & local income tax filings, as well as informational tax filings, excise returns, and head office submissions
- Prepare and review end-to-end 1099 and 1042 process, from W8/W9 review to submission of tax forms to IRS and clients
- Liaise with external advisors, auditors, regulatory agencies, and internal cross-functional teams globally
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and audit readiness while maintaining compliance with U.S. and international tax regulations.
- Respond to audit inquiries from IRS, state, and local authorities
- Develop and maintain documentation for tax policies, procedures, and controls
- Collaborate to design and implement tax strategies aligned with organizational goals
- Participate in projects by researching, modeling, analyzing, and/or communicating the tax implications resulting from new businesses, corporate restructures, changes in tax laws, and/or changes and improvements in reporting requirements
- Facilitate automation and process improvement projects within the tax function
- Perform other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in a financial services tax position in public accounting or with a global financial institution's tax department
- Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or related discipline; CPA preferred; MST or MBA a plus
- Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency across work deliverables
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Thrives in a team-oriented environment while taking ownership of individual contributions
- Broad knowledge of tax law; ability to independently research and interpret the tax code and regulations
- Exceptional work, collaborative mindset, attention to detail, good time management skills, and positive attitude
Annual base salary, not including discretionary bonus eligibility: $140,000

Annual base salary, not including discretionary bonus eligibility: $115,000-$140,000
