Position Summary
The Tax Manager will be responsible for managing client assignments and projects while delivering high-quality tax services. This position requires strong technical tax knowledge, leadership capabilities, excellent communication skills, project management abilities, and strong client relationship skills.
The Manager will work closely with partners, clients, and tax/accounting professionals to ensure assignments are completed accurately, efficiently, and within established deadlines.

- Prepare and review year-end tax projections.
- Analyze tax planning strategies and present recommendations to clients.
- Research and support tax return positions.
- Research and develop tax planning strategies.
- Manage staff assignments, training, coaching, and development.
- Plan, organize, and manage multiple projects and resources.
- Track project schedules and due dates.
- Develop and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Serve as a bridge between clients, staff, and partners.
- Develop and improve processes and procedures to maintain quality, efficiency, and consistency.
- Ensure staff understand and properly follow established procedures.
- Ensure projects and tax returns are accurate, complete, well-documented, and client-ready before partner review.
- Maintain organized files, project records, notes, and task tracking.
- Lead by example and help staff prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Anticipate project issues, evaluate alternatives, and take appropriate action to resolve them.
- Manage assignment budgets and profitability.
- Identify opportunities for additional value-added services and cross-selling.
- Support recruitment, business development, retention, and firm-wide initiatives.
- Develop functional specialization and/or industry expertise.
- Share knowledge and actively support team development.

401(k): Employer matches up to 4% of the employee’s elective deferral. New employees become eligible to participate beginning the first month after 60 days of employment.
Paid Time Off: 15 days per year, increasing to 20 days after four years with the firm. Restrictions may apply from November 30 through April 30.
Paid Holidays: New Year’s Day, April 16th, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
Health Insurance: Employer pays 100% of the premium for the employee’s high-deductible health insurance coverage eligible for HSA participation, effective the first day of the calendar month coinciding with or following completion of 30 consecutive days of active employment.
Life Insurance: $50,000 group term life insurance is provided.
Disability Insurance: Long-term and short-term disability insurance is provided based on compensation.
Cafeteria Plan: Available for dental insurance, family health insurance, and HSA funding.
HSA Funding: Employer provides a 50% match up to $25 per pay period.
License & Professional Dues: Employer pays annual Missouri CPA license renewal, PTIN renewal fees, MOCPA membership dues, and AICPA membership for Managers and above.
CPE: Employer pays for continuing education required to maintain the CPA license.
