What We’re Looking For

 We are currently seeking an experienced Tax Manager to be a critical part of our tax practice in our Irvine, CA office. We’re looking for a licensed CPA who is proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about tax and accounting. The ideal candidate will be capable of working with minimal supervision, demonstrate strong analytical skills, and possess a solid foundation in tax regulations and accounting principles. 

Managers are essentially partners-in-training, and are involved in almost all areas for which partners are responsible. They exhibit technical proficiency and the ability to supervise and complete engagements, possess a thorough knowledge of the firm’s policies and procedures, and serve as intermediaries between partners, clients, senior associates and supervisors.   

 Specific Responsibilities include: 

  • Leading and overseeing tax engagements, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations. 
  • Coordinating various phases of tax engagements, from planning through execution.  
  • Reviewing engagement work papers, resolving issues, and keeping the partner informed of all important developments.
  • Supervising and reviewing the work of associates, providing guidance and support as needed. 
  •  Analyzing complex tax issues and applying your knowledge to provide solutions.  
  • Advising clients on a full spectrum of individual, partnership, corporate, and trust and estate tax services. 
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships, understanding their business needs and providing tailored advice. 
  • Recognizing opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients. 
  • Assisting in administrative functions as assigned by the partners. 
  • Evaluating the performance of professional and administrative staff. 
  • Preparing client billings.  
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the partners.

 Requirements 

  • A minimum of six years' experience including two years' experience as a supervisor (or equivalent experience as deemed appropriate by the partners).   
  • CPA license. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 
  • Familiarity with ASC 740, SSAP 101, Form 1120-PC, and Form 1120-L is preferred but not required. 

Additional Information

This position involves working both in our office and at client locations, which may require occasional travel using your personal vehicle. While moderate overtime is a possibility throughout the year, peak periods may require additional hours to meet engagement deadlines.
