    We are seeking a Tax Manager (m/w/d) EMEA, as an independent contractor for one year, located in Germany, in the area of Stuttgart, Korntal-Münchingen. We are open to hybrid work arrangements for those who live in the area. This is a full-time position, temporary contract for a maternity cover role, lasting up to 12 months.

    How you will make a difference @ FARO

    • Be a business partner to the global finance & operations organization in the U.S. (Lake Mary, FL)
    • Participate in meetings with legal, accounting and business personnel to address issues and questions, regarding changes to the structure of the company
    • Coordinate with the global tax directors on transfer pricing matters including coordinating transfer pricing strategy, reporting, calculation, and compliance
    • Communicate results of tax research in various areas such as income, indirect, withholding or customs tax to provide business decision-makers with proposals for consideration
    • Work with global tax team and external counsel/tax advisers as needed to manage tax risks
    • Support of F&A in meeting local statutory requirements
    • Coordinate the US tax reporting and tax accounting process within EMEA including the preparation and review of local tax provisions
    • Maintain and monitor compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures
    • Support SOX and substantive external audit reviews to ensure compliance as a publicly traded company
    • Manage and support local tax audits in alignment with external tax advisors
    • Take over responsibility for upcoming F&A projects

    This position requires

    • 7 - 10 years of relevant, professional experience of which 3 years were in a management position
    • University degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics with further qualification as Chartered Accountant, Chartered Tax Advisor or equivalent background
    • Excellent, proven knowledge and experience with international tax matters in a public accounting firm or a multinational enterprise
    • Knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and ASC 740 as well as proficient tax research skills
    • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills with the ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment both independently and within a team
    • Proficient computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite and SAP FI
    • Fluency in English is essential, German or other European languages are appreciated
