We are seeking a Tax Manager to join our Strategic Alliance Team. As part of our National Tax Strategic Alliances Team, you’ll play a key role in serving some of our most important strategic relationships. You’ll bring your tax expertise, business perspective, and relationship-building skills to preferred and top-tier clients of leading wealth management companies that have selected our firm as their trusted advisors. Working collaboratively across the organization, you’ll deliver seamless, high-value client experience while helping to deepen and grow these strategic relationships through a combination of technical expertise, advisory services, and innovative technology-enabled solutions. Many clients within the alliance participate in technology-enabled tax service offerings that incorporate digital workflows, automation, and AI assisted tools, creating opportunities to deliver scalable, efficient, and high-quality tax services
Responsibilities are, but not limited to:
- Support strategic alliance relationships with wealth management organizations by serving as a primary day-to-day tax contact for advisors and clients.
- Provide tax compliance and planning support across a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts, estates, charitable entities, and closely held businesses leveraging technology – enabled platforms and AI -assisted tools to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and service delivery.
- Manage the preparation and review of individual, fiduciary, and business tax returns and related engagements. Ensure work is technically accurate, completed in accordance with internal service level expectations, and aligned with clients' tax and wealth planning objectives.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with wealth management advisors and clients. Coordinate communications, respond to tax-related inquiries, and support planning discussions while escalating complex matters as appropriate.
- Supervise, coach, and develop tax professionals supporting the alliance. Provide technical guidance, review work product, manage workloads, and help team members develop their technical and client service skills.
- Identify tax planning and advisory opportunities by gaining an understanding of clients' financial, business, estate, trust, charitable, and wealth management needs and collaborating with senior leaders to deliver appropriate solutions.
- Manage engagement workflow, staffing, and delivery, leveraging both onshore and offshore resources, technology-enabled workflows, and automation tools and AI-enabled solutions to meet client expectations, maintain quality standards, and support operational efficiency.
- Champion the adoption of technology-enabled tax service offerings, drive process consistency, and identify opportunities to enhance the overall client experience.
- Collaborate with tax, accounting, bookkeeping, and advisory professionals to deliver a seamless client experience and ensure identified client needs and opportunities are addressed in a timely manner.
- Support the continued growth of the alliance practice through client service excellence, relationship management, staff development, process improvement, and participation in business development activities.
The ideal candidate must have:
- 7+ years of progressive public accounting experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required; Master’s in Taxation preferred.
- CPA, JD, or EA license required.
- Top 25 accounting firm experience preferred.
- Broad tax technical knowledge and experience across high-net-worth individuals and business tax matters
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship management skills.
- Highly motivated to succeed and be part of a high-performing team.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive high-quality results.
- Proficient with CCH Axcess, Sureprep, BNA Income Tax Planner, CCH AnswerConnect, RIA Checkpoint, XCM and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with technology enabled platforms, workflow automation tools, or digital service delivery model is preferred.
- Demonstrated interest in leveraging emerging technologies, including AI – enabled solutions, to enhance client service, efficiency, and scalability is required.
