We are seeking a customer-focused Junior Tax associate to join our tax advisory team with a strong emphasis on direct & indirect taxes in India. This role is ideal for a tax professional or CA pursuant with a solid foundation in Indian tax laws and a passion for client service and compliance. The Junior Tax associate will serve as a key point of contact for clients, providing clear guidance on direct tax matters, addressing basic tax and finance queries, This position offers hands-on exposure to India’s direct tax ecosystem and provides a strong foundation in tax operations, regulatory adherence, and client engagement. Responsibilities:
- Provide timely and accurate responses to basic customer tax queries related to income, deductions, exemptions, and tax liabilities.
- Guide clients through the e-filing process via the product and assist with documentation and form completion.
- Support audit readiness by preparing documentation and assisting with client follow-ups.
- Stay updated on changes in Indian tax legislation, notifications, circulars, and court rulings affecting direct taxes.
- Contribute to client education initiatives by preparing simple summaries, FAQs, and compliance checklists.
- Promote client retention and satisfaction by delivering proactive, empathetic, and accurate tax support.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field with a focus on Indian tax systems.
- Familiarity with TDS, advance tax, self-assessment tax, and tax audit requirements under Indian law.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain tax concepts clearly to non-experts.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to manage multiple client queries under deadlines.
- Proficiency in English for effective client interaction.
- Willingness to learn and grow within a client-focused tax environment.
