Optiver is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented tax professional to join our tax team based in Mumbai. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of direct and indirect tax compliance and reporting for our India entities while working in a collaborative, fast-paced and technology-driven environment.
Reporting to the Senior Tax Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day execution of Optiver's India tax compliance obligations. Working closely with finance and external advisors, you will help ensure accurate and timely tax reporting, support tax audits and contribute to process improvements that enhance the efficiency of our tax function. WHAT YOU'LL DO
The key functions you will be responsible for include:
- Preparing direct and indirect tax compliance obligations for Optiver's India entities, including corporate income tax, withholding tax, GST and other local tax filings.
- Preparing annual corporate income tax returns, tax computations and supporting work papers.
- Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual tax provisions and supporting tax disclosures for statutory financial reporting.
- Preparing GST returns, reconciliations and other indirect tax compliance obligations.
- Assisting with tax audits, assessments and notices by preparing supporting documentation and coordinating with external tax advisors and tax authorities.
- Partnering with finance and other internal stakeholders to obtain information required for tax compliance and reporting.
- Monitoring changes in Indian tax legislation and assisting in assessing their impact on the business.
- Identifying opportunities to improve tax compliance processes through automation, technology and AI-enabled solutions.
- Maintaining accurate tax documentation and supporting strong tax governance processes
WHO YOU ARE
Optiver is looking for someone who is curious, collaborative and eager to develop their technical expertise within a global organisation. As our next Tax Analyst, you’ll need to have:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in direct and indirect tax compliance within a Big 4 accounting firm or multinational corporate environment.
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
- Strong knowledge of Indian corporate income tax, withholding tax and GST.
- Experience preparing corporate income tax returns, tax provisions and indirect tax filings.
- Experience liaising with tax authorities and external advisors will be highly regarded.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work within deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn, take ownership of your deliverables and continuously improve processes.
