Mission
The Tax Accounting & Reporting Expert supports the Group Accounting and Group Tax functions in ensuring accurate, timely and compliant tax accounting and reporting across the Group. The role is responsible for supporting the quarterly and annual tax reporting cycles under IFRS, including current and deferred tax accounting, effective tax rate analysis, tax disclosures and tax-related forecasting.

In addition, this person will play a key role in the implementation, rollout and ongoing enhancement of the Group’s centralized tax reporting platform, driving the standardization, automation and continuous improvement of tax reporting processes across all jurisdictions.
The position serves as a key link between Group Tax, Group Accounting, Group Consolidation, IT and local finance teams, contributing to the development of a robust, scalable and technology-enabled tax reporting framework.


Reporting & Location
The Tax Accounting & Reporting Expert reports to the Group Accounting Director and the role is located in Antwerp.


Main Accountabilities


Tax Accounting and Reporting

  • Support the quarterly and annual tax reporting process in accordance with IAS 12.
  • Review and analyze tax reporting packages submitted by Group entities.
  • Prepare and review current and deferred tax calculations.
  • Monitor deferred tax assets and liabilities and assess the recoverability of deferred tax assets.
  • Prepare and analyze effective tax rate reconciliations and explain significant variances.
  • Support tax cash flow reporting and forecasting activities.
  • Contribute to the preparation of tax disclosures for interim and annual financial statements.
  • Support tax accounting analyses related to acquisitions, restructurings, financing transactions and other corporate initiatives.

Pillar Two and Regulatory Reporting

  • Support the Group's Pillar Two reporting process, including data collection, validation and analysis.
  • Assist in the preparation of Pillar Two calculations, disclosures and management reporting.
  • Monitor developments in tax reporting requirements and support implementation of new reporting obligations.
  • Monitor compliance with and changes in local and international tax regulations.

Tax Technology and Transformation

  • Act as a key contributor to the implementation and global rollout of the Group's tax reporting platform.
  • Support the definition of tax reporting requirements, data models, controls and reporting outputs.
  • Drive standardization and automation of tax reporting processes across the Group.
  • Coordinate testing, training and change management activities associated with the new platform.
  • Collaborate with IT, external implementation partners and finance teams to ensure successful deployment and adoption.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for tax reporting systems and related processes.
  • Support the development of dashboards, analytics and management reporting capabilities.

Process Improvement, Governance and Controls

  • Maintain and enhance tax reporting templates, policies and process documentation.
  • Support the implementation and operation of the Group Tax Control Framework.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, data quality and control effectiveness.
  • Support internal and external audits related to tax reporting and tax accounting.
  • Ensure timely completion of tax reporting controls and compliance with Group reporting deadlines.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a key interface between Group Tax and Group Consolidation during the monthly, quarterly and annual close processes.
  • Support local finance teams in understanding and applying Group tax reporting requirements.
  • Provide training and guidance on tax reporting processes, controls and systems.
  • Prepare analyses and presentations for senior management, external auditors and the Audit Committee as required.

Education & Experience

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Tax or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, Chartered Accountant, Certified Tax Adviser or equivalent) is considered an advantage.
  • 3–7 years of relevant experience in tax accounting, tax reporting, financial reporting or external audit.
  • Experience in a multinational environment and/or a Big Four firm is preferred.
  • Experience with IFRS reporting in an international group environment is highly desirable.
  • Experience with tax transformation, process improvement or tax technology projects is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of IAS 12 (Income Taxes).
  • Good understanding of IFRS financial reporting.
  • Experience with current and deferred tax accounting and effective tax rate analysis.
  • Knowledge of Pillar Two requirements is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with financial consolidation and reporting systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
  • Experience with tax reporting software or enterprise reporting platforms is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical matters clearly and effectively.

Skills Required
