About the Role
We are seeking a high-horsepower, operationally disciplined Talent Sourcer. You may or may not have a recruiting background, but you must have a track record of turning outreach into high-quality pipelines in high-pressure environments (for example, in an SDR role). Your focus will be sourcing exceptional Forward Deployed Engineers: customer-facing software engineers who combine technical depth, business judgment, and the ability to deliver in ambiguous environments.
You will partner with recruiters and hiring managers to understand hiring needs, align on candidate profiles, and build sourcing strategies as DeployCo grows.
Your day-to-day will be a mix of research, outreach and experimentation. You will explore technical communities and talent markets, build relationships with engineers, and use what you learn to improve how we find and engage talent.
Success in this role will look like a consistent pipeline of qualified, engaged candidates who progress through our hiring process, strong partnerships with the hiring team, and a clear understanding of which sourcing approaches lead to great hires.
In this role, you will:
Identify engineers with the technical ability, customer focus, and judgment to succeed as Forward Deployed Engineers
Develop creative sourcing strategies across companies, communities, networks, and other channels
Apply a data-driven approach to every aspect of the role: tracking response rates, conversion rates, and pipeline quality to understand what works and adjusting your approach based on the data
Write thoughtful, personalized outreach that gives candidates a clear reason to engage with DeployCo
Conduct initial candidate conversations to understand their experience, interests, and fit for the role
Build and nurture talent pools for current and future hiring needs
Partner with recruiters and hiring managers to refine searches using candidate feedback and interview outcomes
Test sourcing tools and techniques, and turn successful approaches into practices the team can repeat
You may thrive in this role if you:
Bring 2+ years of sourcing, recruiting, SDR, or comparable experience, ideally in a fast-growing environment
Have built strong engineering pipelines in competitive markets, including candidates who were not actively looking
Understand technical roles and can have credible, curious conversations with engineers about their work
Recognize relevant skills and potential across different backgrounds, titles, and technology stacks
Write clear, compelling outreach and build trust through thoughtful candidate interactions
Use data and feedback to improve your approach and prioritize your time
Take initiative, move quickly, and stay effective as hiring needs evolve
Enjoy researching unfamiliar talent markets and trying new ways to reach people
Have experience sourcing for forward deployed engineering, solutions architecture, or other customer-facing technical roles
Skills Required

The company operates as an extension of OpenAI while maintaining a distinct customer-focused operating model.
