NEI Electric Power is a Power Systems Engineering Consulting firm supporting clients across multiple industries since 1982. Based outside of Lakewood, Colorado, NEI is looking for a Technical Recruiter to join the team full-time to support NEI’s growth across multiple departments.  

The Talent Acquisition Partner (TAP) is role is to serve as a key talent advisor and hiring partner by managing the talent acquisition lifecycle; owning candidate assessment, market insights, and advisory guidance to help hiring leaders make the best possible hiring decisions.  

Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 / year 

The salary range above is based upon the Denver, Colorado labor market.  

This opportunity is available to both local / in-office (Lakewood, CO) and full-time remote candidates.  

Essential Responsibilities Talent Advisory & Hiring Partnership 
  • Partners closely with Directors and Vice Presidents to deeply understand hiring needs, team context, and ideal candidate profiles.  

  • Supports early career hiring and represents NEI at career fairs across the country 

  • Leads requisition intake meetings, role calibration, and interview design.  

  • Provides guidance to hiring partners throughout the hiring process.  

  • Synthesize interview feedback and facilitate data-driven hiring decisions. 

Candidate Assessment & Market Expertise 
  • Owns candidate sourcing, outreach, screening, and qualification decisions.  

  • Conducts high-quality screening conversations aligned to the role requirements and NEI’s core values.  

  • Applies market insight to advise hiring leaders on feasibility, tradeoffs, and expectations. 

  • Clearly documents assessment outcomes, recommendations, and decision rationale. 

  • Partners with Talent Acquisition Coordinator to ensure candidates experience a best-in-class experience as they move through the talent acquisition lifecycle.  

Stakeholder Communication 
  • Maintains strong, consultative relationships with hiring leaders. 

  • Sets expectations, provides regular updates, and manages alignment throughout the process. 

  • Escalates risks, misalignment, or capacity concerns to the Manager – Talent Acquisition as needed.  

Must Have 
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources or business-related field is preferred but is not required. 

  • Experience: 1 - 4 years of sourcing or recruiting experience is required. 

  • Demonstrated experience partnering with hiring leaders in a consultative, advisory capacity, not solely transactional recruiting. 

  • Proven ability to translate business needs into clear talent profiles, balancing technical requirements, team dynamics, and market realities. 

  • Strong judgement evaluating talent, synthesizing interview feedback, and guiding hiring leaders to informed decisions.  

  • Experience facilitating intake meetings, interview debriefs, and calibration discussions with hiring stakeholders.  

  • Deep understanding of the candidate market, sourcing strategies, and Boolean search strings. 

  • Comfortable assessing “must-haves vs. Nice-to-haves" and advising leaders when adjustments are needed.  

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence without authority. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence; capable of building trust with candidates, hiring leaders, and cross-functional partners. 

  • Ability to deliver candid feedback and push back professionally when needed to protect quality, process, or candidate experience.  

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Work is performed in an office setting and some field work may be required 


Travel: 

Minimal: 15 – 20%

Skills Required

  • Minimum of 2 years of sourcing or recruiting experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks with attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal and people skills
  • Currently authorized to work full-time in the United States
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or a business-related field
  • Experience recruiting or sourcing for technical positions, particularly engineering roles
  • Proficiency with Boolean search strings across multiple sourcing channels
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems
  • Experience with Paycom
