Are you passionate about horses and love helping others learn and grow in their equestrian journey? Join our team as a Tacking Assistant at Chagrin Valley Farms! As a Tacking Assistant, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the safety and smooth operation of our lesson program while fostering a welcoming and educational environment.
What You'll Do:
- Safety Supervision: Monitor the lesson aisle to maintain a safe environment for horses, students, and parents.
- Horse Grooming Assistance: Guide students in properly brushing and caring for horses before and after lessons, ensuring cleanliness and comfort.
- Tacking Up & Equipment Support: Assist riders in securely and correctly saddling and bridling horses, ensuring both horse and rider are prepared for a successful lesson.
- Rider Preparation: Ensure all riders are equipped with proper helmets, footwear, and attire before heading to the arena.
- Post-Ride Care: Supervise the untacking process, assist with grooming, and ensure tack is cleaned and stored appropriately.
- Arena Preparation & Cleanup: Support instructors by setting up or clearing equipment in the arena when needed.
- Facility Maintenance: Help keep the lesson aisle and surrounding areas clean, organized, and inviting.
What We're Looking For:
- Equestrian Knowledge: Comfortable around horses and knowledgeable in basic handling, grooming, and tacking procedures.
- Strong Communication Skills: Friendly and approachable, with the ability to provide guidance and enforce safety practices tactfully.
- Reliability: Dependable and attentive, always prioritizing the safety and well-being of students and horses.
- Team Spirit: Works well with instructors, students, and parents to create a positive and efficient lesson environment.
- Proactive Attitude: Willing to step in where needed, from assisting with students to maintaining the facility’s appearance.
- Availability: part-time, late afternoons and early evenings on weekdays; mornings and afternoons on weenends
