Job Description
The Pompano Beach office is hiring a Systems Support Specialist to join the Intelligence Team. The Intelligence systems teams deliver complex information technology projects and push the limits of systems engineering in support of intelligent transportation systems (ITS). Our talented groups of systems professionals do more than just infrastructure deployments, write software code and debug – they make a significant impact on the design and development of state-of-the-art projects globally.
The focus of this position will be on delivering IT systems and application support to external customers in private and public sector. Working in IT consulting, you’re not just an individual; you’re part of a collaborative and highly visible team that works together on unique, fast paced projects around the world.
The applicant should be well versed in common elements of the IT infrastructure and Networks, be self-motivated and able to take initiative in a dynamic fast-paced environment. Candidates are expected to have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and should be able to work independently and integrate with our teams globally.
- Start with systems support for Internal and External Customers on elements of the Intelligent Transportation Systems infrastructure covering the ITS software and the underlying physical infrastructure - compute, storage, network and cloud.
- Provide onsite 3rd party application support and configuration (training will be provided)
- Assist with configuration and monitoring of the network monitoring systems (PRTG) for compute nodes, networking equipment, storage systems, and custom applications.
- Assist with installing, configuring, and administrating physical compute nodes.
- Assist with installing, configuring and administrating Hypervisors and guest OS's (Windows and Linux).
- Assist with provisioning new AWS resources and support existing resources.
- Assistance with VM replication, clones, backups, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Some overnight travel of up to 20% may be necessary, occasionally
- After hour support as needed with on-call schedule and applicable compensation
Qualifications
- Post-secondary Degree in Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering or Equivalent preferred but not essential
- Experience implementing/designing/deploying/supporting physical server infrastructure and/or AWS/Azure.
- Exposure to the installation and administration of Windows Server OS environments
- Exposure to the deployment and administration of Dell/HP Servers and Storage Arrays.
- Exposure to the deployment and administration of the Virtualization technologies from VMware or Microsoft.
- In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP networking, configuration, and monitoring.
- Familiar with Linux and Windows OS administration.
- Experience with any aspects of ITS infrastructure an asset.
- Open to work with and learn a wide range of technologies
- An aptitude to learn and take on new challenge
- Comfortable working both alone and in a team environment.
- Able to physically lift (occasionally) and manipulate IT components – servers, network switches, storage arrays
- Home internet connection required
Office Description
The office is two blocks away from the Tri-car Sample Road / Military Road stop. There is free parking for all employees.
The salary range for this role is $65k-$75k depending on multiple factors.
