You’ll tackle challenges across diverse domains, from process modeling and optimization to technology evaluation, data analysis, and process design.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and document solutions to system architecture challenges including process flows, control philosophy, equipment type and sizing, risk analysis, and instrumentation requirements.
  • Interpret and analyze data from CarbonCapture systems and prototypes.
  • Develop test plans, coordinate testing efforts on prototypes, and provide technical guidance on new designs and system modifications.
  • Contribute to the development of internal processand techno-economic models.
  • Collaborate with other internal and external engineering groups to solve technical problems, manage requirements and tradeoffs, and ensure proper system integration.
  • Take initiative to uncover and investigate opportunities for system improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of relevant full-time industry experience.
  • Professional knowledge and understanding of thermodynamic principles as demonstrated by prior project work.
  • Strong and professional communication, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Proven experience in generating process design deliverables, including PFDs, P&IDs, design basis, control narratives, and heat and mass balances.
  • Adaptability to a start-up environment; capability to independently define broad problems, evaluate solution methods, and develop own tasks and timelines.

Desired Background

  • Proficiency in Python and/or other scientific computing tools.
  • Prior experience modeling systems in Excel, Python, Aspen, and/or other software tools.
  • Background in chemical engineering R&D and/or scale-up of new process technologies.
