The Systems Integration Engineer/Development Scientist II for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for working closely with software development, assay development, and systems engineers to support menu delivery of new product development for medical device systems.

This position is part of Systems Integration located in Chaska, MN and will be onsite at least 3 days a week. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Expand knowledge at the intersection of software, system, and reagent design for commercial medical devices
  • Collaborate in multifunctional teams to create requirements, design test cases, and resolve issues
  • Create, implement, and sustain process improvements for menu delivery
  • Design, prototype, validate, implement and maintain software applications
  • Author and verify menu processing files for new product development

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemistry, or relevant engineering/life science degree with 2+ years of relevant experience or Masters with 0-2 years of experience
  • Ability to detail work per ISO9000/FDA regulations, including materials, methods, and conclusions.
  • Experience writing procedures, organizing data, and presenting information with word processing applications (i.e. Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to plan project task execution, effectively communicate status, and manage multiple tasks independently with minimal guidance.
  • Experience working within cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, and often ambiguous environment where continuous improvement is a way of life

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience with Systems Integration of software, system and reagent design.
  • Meaningful experience with clinical, research or diagnostic setting with knowledge of immunoassay development, laboratory automation, and/or system software
  • Experience with software or web application development
