We are looking for a Mid to Senior Systems Administrator to join our small IT Operations team, reporting to the IT Support Manager. This is a hands on role focused on delivering reliable, secure and scalable internal IT services. You will balance user support with ownership of core infrastructure and platforms, working closely with Engineering, Finance, Customer Service and other teams. This is not a DevOps or Software Engineering role, and you will be expected to drive improvements with higher risk changes reviewed by the IT Support Manager.

What you'll do:

  • Provide Level 2+ support across Windows and macOS
  • Own internal IT systems, SaaS platforms, and physical plus cloud infrastructure
  • Escalation point for complex incidents and problems, driving resolution end to end
  • Administer Microsoft stack end to end: Azure, Entra ID, Intune, Windows Server
  • Manage AWS and Azure hosted Windows servers: patching, monitoring, backups, access, lifecycle
  • Support infrastructure for business critical apps (SAP and custom apps), including multi server environments, IIS, gateways, certificates and connectivity
  • Respond to security incidents, including investigation, remediation and vendor escalation
  • Monitor and act on SIEM and endpoint security alerts (eg SentinelOne)
  • Support cloud migrations, integrations, tenant consolidation and acquisition related IT work
  • Maintain strong identity and access management: RBAC, least privilege, groups, secure authentication
  • Support key business tools where required (eg Atlassian, Asana, Figma, Slack, AI tools, SAP, Adobe, Google Workspace)
  • Keep documentation current: systems, processes, changes, troubleshooting
  • Communicate incidents, outages and changes clearly across the business
  • Work with vendors on support cases, troubleshooting, quotes and options, with approvals via IT Support Manager
  • Assist with licence utilisation and cost optimisation
  • Mentor and support junior team members

What you'll need:

  • Proven Sys Admin, Infrastructure Engineer experience in a service led IT environment
  • Strong customer service mindset and professional user support approach
  • Strong Windows and macOS support experience
  • Hands on admin experience across Azure, AD, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace
  • Endpoint management experience (Intune or similar) and strong Windows fundamentals
  • Windows Server management experience: patching, monitoring, backup and restore validation, troubleshooting
  • Experience supporting complex multi tier business applications (SAP beneficial, not required)
  • Networking fundamentals: DNS, routing basics, firewall concepts, remote access and RDS
  • Security focused mindset with incident and vulnerability response experience
  • Experience with SIEM and or endpoint security tooling
  • Strong troubleshooting, able to work independently and escalate appropriately
  • Strong documentation and communication habits
  • Comfortable doing hands on user support in a small team

Desired:

  • ITIL or strong ITIL aligned operational experience
  • AWS and Azure Windows server hosting experience (eg EC2)
  • Migration, consolidation and integration experience, especially M&A
  • Vendor management and licence cost optimisation experience
  • Firewall experience (Fortinet highly regarded)
  • Broader networking exposure: LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, Wi-Fi, RADIUS, cloud networking
  • TLS, certificates and PKI knowledge
  • Scripting for automation (PowerShell, Bash)
  • Enterprise SaaS support experience (eg SAP B1, Salesforce, Google Workspace)
  • Awareness of IaC and containers (Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes) with willingness to learn
  • Microsoft, Google or cloud certifications
  • Tertiary IT qualification
