Rotorua Lakes Council is seeking a talented and motivated Systems Engineer to play a key role in keeping the technology that underpins our city running seamlessly. This is an opportunity to work at the heart of an organisation where every system, connection, and piece of infrastructure supports services that directly benefit our community.
In this role, you’ll be part of a close-knit, future-focused technology team responsible for ensuring our IT infrastructure and cloud services are secure, reliable, and ready to meet the challenges of tomorrow. You’ll work across the organisation — from operations and finance to community services — helping deliver innovative, efficient technology solutions that enable great outcomes for Rotorua. Whether you’re resolving critical issues, optimising performance, or shaping the design of new systems, your work will help ensure our people have the tools they need to deliver for our district.
To thrive here, you’ll bring strong technical expertise across systems, networks, and virtual environments, coupled with the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-evolving technological landscape. You’ll be a clear communicator, a collaborative team player, and someone who takes pride in delivering solutions that are both practical and future-ready.
At Rotorua Lakes Council, we are proud to work in genuine partnership with Te Arawa and value those who appreciate te reo Māori, tikanga Māori, and bicultural ways of working. You’ll be joining a values-driven organisation that embraces innovation, connection, and excellence — and you’ll do it in one of Aotearoa’s most beautiful and unique regions, where lifestyle and career go hand in hand.
If you’re ready to apply your skills to a role where technology truly serves people and community, and join a team passionate about making a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
