What You’ll Be Doing (We don’t love the bullet points, but we love the work!)
As the SE, you'll get to analyze user’s requirements, CONOPS, and system architectures to develop requirements and lead system design. Advises on alternatives, assesses feasibility, supports integration of requirements, design, and technology, and develops technical and architecture documentation. Guides implementation planning, coordinates with government stakeholders on technical issues, ensures technical integrity of deliverables, and communicates with program teams and senior leadership.Required Skills- Circuit Switched and Mobile Telephony signaling types, networks and systems, including audio encoding/decoding (7 years)
- Specific communications protocols (e.g. GSM, CDMA, 5G, HTS, etc.) and associated community tools
- Application Development for ipv4 and ipv6 packet switched networks (i.e. L2, L3), protocols (i.e. VOIP) and technologies (VPNs, encapsulation)
- Deep knowledge of the OSI network stack and associated protocols across layers 2-7.
- All protocol stacks for data transfer, to include but not limited to Routing protocols, Encapsulation, Tunneling and encryption, legacy protocols (i.e. SONET)
- Digital forensics tools such as Wireshark
- Fluent in sarcasm, kindness, and the occasional office banter
Skills Required
- 7+ years experience with circuit-switched and mobile telephony signaling, including audio encoding/decoding
- Experience with communications protocols (e.g., GSM, CDMA, 5G, HTS) and associated community tools
- Application development for IPv4 and IPv6 packet-switched networks (L2, L3), VoIP protocols, VPNs, encapsulation
- Deep knowledge of OSI network stack and protocols across layers 2-7
- Knowledge of protocol stacks for data transfer including routing protocols, encapsulation, tunneling, encryption, legacy protocols (SONET)
- Top Secret security clearance and favorable completion of a polygraph
- Authorized to work in the U.S.; employer does not sponsor employment visas
- Familiarity with digital forensics/network analysis tools such as Wireshark
- Strong interpersonal skills, office communication and teamwork (office banter/sarcasm noted)
