Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), is looking for an Associate or Mid-Level Systems Engineer - Spacecraft Vehicle Controller (Level 2 or 3) in Las Cruces, NM. The Space Controller/Engineer (SVC) will be responsible for command and control of space vehicles (SV), telemetry monitoring, and execution and verification of products loaded to the SV.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Ensuring integrity of the ground system and command path in support of the mission. The SVC will use MS-Windows or UNIX based computers for the development of the operational plan and analysis of data collected in support of planning future contacts or anomaly resolution

  • The SVC will be responsible for coordination with management and peers to ensure the integrity of high-quality operational products, including procedures, tools, detailed event logging, and system configuration

  • This position will be required to analyze technical data, verify and sustain specific systems configuration in accordance with defined constraints and operational requirements

  • The SVC will monitor system performance and control system elements by executing commands to change the system configuration to achieve mission objectives. This position may support future system testing and integration requirements

  • Selected candidate will be provided specialized training in order to learn the necessary skills related to ground and SV configuration management, allowing them to obtain the necessary certifications required for this position

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Willing to work variable shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Able to successfully complete the Space Vehicle Certification program which requires a combination of self-study and on-the-job (OJT) training

  • Must have an Active Top Secret/SCI w/Polygraph clearance

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors Degree or higher

  • Prior experience with coding/scripting with various languages (MATLAB, Pearl, etc...)

  • Prior experience working with space vehicles

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Note: Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.

Associate (Level 2) Summary pay range: $73,100 - $98,900

Mid-Level (Level 3) Summary pay range: $88,400 - $119,600
