The Controls Systems (CS) Environmental Control Systems (ECS) organization has an immediate need for a System Engineer II to work on various Air Transport, Regional, Business and Military aircraft. This position reports to the ECS Performance Analysis Manager

The selected individual will be responsible for applying technical expertise in system steady state analysis to the specification, analysis, design, and test of of ECS systems (Bleed Air, Air Conditioning, Vapor Cycle, etc.).  This role includes interfacing within and across multiple Honeywell sites.

Under moderate supervision, this position is responsible for a variety of independent intermediate level systems analysis responsibilities, requiring interaction with internal customers and team members in order to facilitate the completion of various analysis tasks. 

You will report directly to our Engineering Manager, and you will work out of our Torrance, CA. This role is eligible for hybrid work schedule after the completion of 90 day on-site probation period.


Responsibilities
  • Steady State simulation of ECS and VCS systems using Nexsys model including verification of system level steady state requirements 
  • Definition of system and equipment level key performance and generation/ validation of associated requirements.
  • Creation and maintenance of system level steady state models including run time performance optimization, model validation against component and system test data, and generation of model documentation.
  • System Modeling/Development process coordination and handoffs between internal and external stakeholders, communication with chief engineering and technical management.
  • System Integration Test Support including facility architecture and requirements, test model definition, characterization test plans/procedures, test execution support and data processing/review and model calibration.
  • Up to 25% travel 
Qualifications

Must Haves:

    •  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as Engineering, Mathematics or related field

We Value: 

  • Working knowledge of the JSF PTMS as well as experience running PTMS performance analysis, test data analysis and model matching
  • Matlab and Python

The annual base salary range for this position is $89,600.00 - $112,500.00      Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

Skills Required
