Phoenix Cyber is looking for a Systems Engineer to join our client delivery team. This is a remote, work-from-home position with the possibility of minimal travel within the continental United States.
- Systems Engineer performs a variety of system engineering tasks which are broad in nature and are concerned with the administration of server and technical architecture.
- Provide Linux and Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, Tier 2/3 support to government customers and other project team members
- Troubleshoot and debug server-based application(s) and/or IT infrastructure component(s)
- Perform tasks, including but not limited to, restarting systems, application upgrades, hardware maintenance, etc
- Ensure all necessary documentation to operate and maintain the equipment and/or software is regularly maintained
- Perform performance monitoring and provide documentation of issues and recommendations to upper management
- Maintain and patch systems, software and applications to eliminate bugs/defects, security vulnerabilities, and maintain technology currency of systems and applications to maintain or renew existing ATOs
- Participate in change management processes to include patch compliance and Information Assurance Validation Testing
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of system engineering/system administration experience in Red Hat Linux/Oracle Linux or Windows Server environment or six years of total IT experience and 3 years of system engineering/system administration experience in Red Hat Linux/ Oracle Linux and Windows server environment.
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Microsoft Certification preferred
