As a Systems Engineer, you’re expected to:
As a key Engineer within the Computing Squad, you will be in contact with critical pieces of foundational infrastructure where the majority of Nubank's workloads run, including Kubernetes, AWS, Network, and Service Communications. You will contribute to our Computing product strategy, find opportunities to improve our infrastructure, and set a high technical standard for the team.
Main responsibilities:
- Proactively identify and pursue opportunities to improve our infrastructure in areas like performance, costs, and governance.
- Represent the team in different technical forums, being able to document, negotiate, and convince different stakeholders across various levels and chapters.
- Anticipate technical and product issues, making appropriate design decisions to avoid them.
- Deep dive into problems to identify root causes and deliver innovative solutions that address team-level challenges with a focus on medium and long-term impact.
- Understand the technical aspects, capabilities, and limitations of our systems, contributing to discussions and improvements.
- Contribute to our Computing product strategy, working closely with peers and Product Managers.
- Experience and knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS).
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Kubernetes and AWS EKS.
- Experience with access management (AWS IAM, Role management).
- Experience with scaling tools like Karpenter, KEDA, and HPA.
- Experience with the Golang programming language.
- A passion for sharing knowledge and mentoring other engineers.
- Creativity and analytical thinking to find opportunities to improve our Computing Platform.
- Advanced English skills (English will be used every day for documentation, text conversations, and meetings).
