OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Systems Administrator to operate and maintain internal IT infrastructure supporting regulated Space and DoD programs. This role focuses on secure system administration, endpoint management, cloud workload support, and operational compliance execution within a CMMC Level 2–scoped environment. This is a hands-on technical role suited for an administrator who understands security requirements, follows documented processes, and can adapt quickly in a regulated environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Security+ certification (or ability to maintain DoD 8570 / 8140 compliance)
  • Experience administering systems in a secure or regulated environment
  • Familiarity with CMMC Level 2 / NIST SP 800-171
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Windows system administration
  • Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Endpoint provisioning and support
  • Foundational knowledge of cloud environments (AWS and/or Azure) with ability to learn quickly
  • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while following defined security processes
PERFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Active Top Secret clearance
  • Experience supporting CMMC assessments or regulated environments
  • Prior exposure to:
    • AWS EC2, security groups, IAM concepts
    • VMware virtualization platforms
    • Microsoft 365 GCC High
    • Endpoint protection and vulnerability remediation
  • Additional certifications (Network+, CySA+, AWS, VMware, Microsoft)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Secure Systems & Infrastructure Administration
  • Administer and maintain Windows workstations and servers in a regulated environment
  • Support on-prem virtualized infrastructure, including VMware (vSphere / ESXi / vCenter)
  • Support cloud-based workloads, including AWS instances, in accordance with internal security standards
  • Apply patches, updates, and configuration changes following approved change processes
  • Maintain system availability while adhering to security and compliance requirements
Identity, Access & Endpoint Management
  • Provision, modify, and decommission user accounts per least privilege and separation of duties
  • Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, and endpoint configurations
  • Assist with operational administration of Microsoft 365 GCC High, including:
    • Entra ID (Azure AD)
    • Intune (device management)
    • Microsoft Defender tooling
    • Purview features (as directed)
    • Sentinel alert triage support
  • Process access requests and SAARs with required approvals
  • Image, configure, and deploy new hire systems using approved baselines
CMMC Control Implementation Support
  • Implement and sustain technical controls supporting CMMC Level 2 (NIST SP 800-171) requirements
  • Generate technical artifacts and evidence (logs, screenshots, configurations)
  • Maintain systems in an assessment-ready state
  • Remediate findings identified through scans, audits, or internal reviews
Troubleshooting & Operational Support
  • Troubleshoot approved hardware, software, and connectivity issues within the authorized boundary
  • Support asset tracking, system inventories, and lifecycle management
  • Escalate security-relevant issues for review and disposition
Documentation & Change Tracking
  • Maintain SOPs, system documentation, inventories, and configuration records
  • Ensure system changes are documented and traceable
  • Support configuration and asset management processes
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
  • Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications)
