Position Summary

Reporting to the IT Manager (US), the Systems Administrator will help develop, maintain, and secure IPG Photonics’ global infrastructure. This role supports critical business systems and services in a dynamic, high-tech manufacturing environment while ensuring reliability, security, and compliance with business objectives and service-level agreements (SLAs).

Strategy & Planning
  • Create and maintain system configuration and troubleshooting documentation.
  • Review policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Proactively monitor, test, and optimize application performance while identifying opportunities for improvement.
Operational Responsibilities
  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 IT support and participate in the on-call rotation.
  • Lead vulnerability remediation and scheduled patch management activities.
  • Manage, triage, and resolve IT tickets while contributing to SLA performance metrics.
  • Install, upgrade, configure, and maintain infrastructure systems and hardware.
  • Support workstation hardware, software, and peripheral deployment and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in outage and incident-response bridge calls.
  • Administer Active Directory, Entra ID, Azure, Citrix, Microsoft 365, Nutanix, VMware, Veeam, Intune, MFA, and related infrastructure services.
  • Administer Azure and AWS environments, including licensing, deployment, and connectivity.
  • Maintain and support email security and spam-filtering systems.
  • Monitor infrastructure and business applications and proactively resolve issues.
  • Ensure infrastructure security, compliance, and data integrity standards are maintained.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues.
  • Perform system and service migrations for branch locations.
Project Management
  • Execute assigned project tasks and meet established timelines.
  • Provide weekly project status updates.
  • Identify and remove roadblocks before they affect schedules or deliverables.
Preferred QualificationsRequired Qualifications
  • 3+ years of infrastructure support experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (or equivalent), Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, Windows, Linux, Veeam, Exchange, Nutanix, VMware, and monitoring tools.
  • Strong Nutanix skill set to include monitoring, patches, upgrades, security, DR, and best practices.

  • Experience with SSL certificates and certificate authorities.
  • Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of ITIL best practices and experience using ITSM tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 migrations, including Exchange to Office 365.
  • Experience with SSO technologies, particularly Entra ID and Microsoft SSO.
  • PowerShell scripting experience.
  • Knowledge of networking configuration, installation, and maintenance.
  • Merger and acquisition integration experience.
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, analytical, and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • ITIL, Microsoft, VMware, Nutanix, and cloud certifications are preferred.
Pay Range

MA: $74,956 - $99,316

Skills Required

  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level IT support and participate in scheduled on-call rotation
  • Hands-on administration of Microsoft Active Directory and Entra ID (AD/Entra)
  • Administration experience with Microsoft Azure and AWS (cloud platform deployment and connectivity)
  • Administration experience with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Exchange, and migration from on-premises Exchange to Office 365
  • Experience with virtualization and infrastructure platforms: VMware and Nutanix
  • Experience with Veeam Backup and spam filter systems
  • Experience with Citrix, Microsoft Intune, MFA, SSO (Entra ID/Microsoft SSO)
  • 3+ years of experience in infrastructure support roles
  • Experience with DNS, DHCP, LDAP, Group Policy, Windows and Linux operating systems, and networking configurations
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting
  • Knowledge of SSL certificates and certificate authorities
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of ITIL best practices and experience with an ITSM tool
  • Merger and acquisition experience
