Systems Administrator
About the Role GPL Technologies is seeking a Systems Administrator to support one of our clients in the creative/production industry. This is a hands-on role requiring daily onsite presence to provide IT support, manage systems, and ensure reliable operations in a fast-paced production environment.Responsibilities
Provide onsite IT support for staff: walk-ups, tickets, troubleshooting.
Manage servers and workstations: installs, patches, upgrades, and monitoring.
Handle user accounts, passwords, and access permissions.
Oversee hardware lifecycle: imaging, deployment, inventory tracking, and decommissions.
Support backup and recovery processes to protect production data.
Assist with audits and compliance tasks in collaboration with GPL and internal leads.
Troubleshoot basic network issues (switches, routers, connectivity).
Respond quickly to urgent issues that impact production workflows.
3–5+ years in IT or Systems Administration.
Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networks.
Experience with Windows and macOS systems.
- Comfortable balancing repetitive daily fixes with deeper systems work.
- Personable, approachable, and able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical staff.
- Calm under pressure, adaptable in a production environment.
- Experience supporting creative studios, gaming, or media environments.
Familiarity with compliance/audit processes.
- Network troubleshooting beyond the basics.
This position offers a salary range of $75,000 to $95,000 annually, depending on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
