Systems Administrator – High-Performance Computing Data Center (NASA NACS)
ASRC Federal Data Solutions (AFDS) supports NASA's High Performance Computing Services program at the Ames Research Center in Mountain View, CA. Make a DIFFERENCE on a program that supports 4 on-site supercomputers, 18,000+ nodes, and 17+ combined petaflop supercomputer systems. Our program provides High Performance Computing services throughout the HPC lifecycle, including computational requirements, architecture, acquisition, and operations, for federal government customers. Additionally, our team supports the Human-Systems Integration (HSI) Division, which enables the development of complex aerospace systems through analysis and modeling of human performance and human-automation interactions.
Our employees embrace innovation and are committed to a culture of continuous, standards-driven process improvement and assimilation of industry best practices. We have an immediate position for a Systems Administrator to join our Infrastructure team in Mountain View. This role supports the hundreds of infrastructure systems that support HPC operations.
Position Summary
The windows system administrator position to collaborate provide laboratory, logistical support, and system oversight to support HSI’s research laboratories at NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View, CA. HSI’s research includes work in human performance, integration and evaluation, and human-computer interaction.
Much of the research performed in HSI is collaborative, team-based activities that rely upon an advanced, distributed human-in-the-loop simulation environment and state-of-the-art facilities to investigate the roles, responsibilities, and requirements for human operators and automation in complex systems. Research participants include industry partners, professional air traffic service providers, pilots, and aviation operators who help to develop and test novel aviation concepts, technologies, or procedures for designing and testing new air traffic operations in the global and United States National Airspace System.
Foundational to the ability of the HSI to successfully conduct its research is a fully functioning, well-maintained, safe, secure, and updated lab infrastructure that includes the systems, software, displays, associated peripherals, and other necessary component layers all working seamlessly and with a high rate of availability.
